Just got a Technika 32" with built in DVD for £169 from Tesco. will be as good as an LG (I know of at least 2 different LG's that have failed inside 3 years!)

Even though you may know of some relatively rare instances of failures, the LG's sound and picture quality will be about 20 times better than the Technika (and that will probably fail after 12 months and 3 days). The built-in DVD isn't a bonus either in 2017 - more to go wrong in fact.

Why spend £249 on a telly when I can buy a Polaroid telly from Asda for half the price???

OP seems to be getting a load of hassle that this isn't a bargain basement budget tv. LG are one of if not the market leader so if you want a high quality 32" tv at a low price, here it is.

If stores have stock, it's the same price at John Lewis. Got my son one for Christmas and it's it decent TV; very happy with it.

I have bought two of these tv's (one for a spare bedroom, another for a second room at my parent's). The picture and sound quality is really good. However, the processing power is not - changing channel will take a few seconds and smart features are quite slow, but work fine when you get into it. If pushing a button on the remote and waiting a few seconds for tv to action it bothers you, this won't be the tv for you!
