It'd be quite tough for you to find a hybrid machine with similar specs for much less than that, it's 4K with the latest i7 processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. The only thing close I can think of is the Surface Pro 5, which will set you back a lot more than this for the same specs and will have a smaller screen. Lenovo got some of their laptop market share back with the popular Y500.

Not 100% sure. Laptop without any warning did a BSoD equivalent. Couldn't boot off the SSD/HDD after that and was caught in a boot loop. Spent the last 2 weeks wasting a huge amount of time trying to diagnose, trying a huge number of workarounds including BIOS, factory resets etc. I think it's a motherboard I/O hardware issue because I can't boot off any HDDs / SSDs, even new replacement drives. Never, ever buying a Lenovo again.

I cant wait need something in the next couple of weeks. My current laptop on its last legs

My Lenovo laptop just failed after 2 years. No impressed at all.

I'm tempted by the 14" size screen, there's not much else with this spec unless you go smaller to 13" or up to 15"

Apologies, it's the full HD version that was £899 around easter not the 4k. Pc world.

The hp spectre x360 4k version is often a similar price, or the Full HD version with 4gb is around £600.
It's a much better machine, imo for the money the spectres are the best you can buy.

USB 3.0 Type-C With Video-Out- does that mean you could connect a HDMI port to it??

i7 7500U is ~7-13% faster depending on the use case
Definitely not worth an extra £300 for the average consumer and maybe not even for a prosumer

And bigger screen in the lenovo if you're eyes struggle a bit!

I have this model and paid around this on black Friday. Cracking laptop and the watch style hinge is an amazing design and works well. Heat from me!

The Zenbook was a steal for the specification. This is only marginally better and double the price.

Very little difference between i5u and i7u just a little clock speed and boost. Marketing gimmick. Was with gen 5 and 6 anyway

I have the 900S and apart from a dodgy mouse pad this has been a really good laptop. Build quality has been really good and no bloat ware, not on mine at least. This is a pretty good deal. Heat from me.

i7 version is only slightly faster. I5 is probably the better buy.

Lenovo - think I'll give it a miss! Got one of their phones (Moto X Style) and they don't support them once you've parted with your money.

Well they have been pretty nasty with the software on their default installations, even including keyloggers. But since they leapt straight to anger instead of explaining their position, we'll never know if they had a point or were just a passing troll.

If it was i7 I'd run out the door right now and grab 1! :wink:

My apologies on that one, it is an i5, so the Surface comparison isn't 100% fair as they're running i7's. I still stand by my original comment though :smiley:
