I bought a Japanese maple at homebase and it was only £3.47.
I saw blow maples at different homebase stores in London:
Phoenix
Taylor
Orange Dream
Atropurpureum
Wilson's Pink Dwarf
Beni Maiko
Little Princess
Palmatum Dissectum
Nice price but a nightmare to look after this young and small

Not sure I'd say they're a nightmare, but I'd certainly recommend buying a larger specimen.
I love my Japanese Maples, but like many others I'm no expert. Larger specimens I've bought certainly have a better shape to those I've grown from small myself.

Seems fairly expensive for that size. Haven't shopped in Morrison's for awhile but they did several varieties for £1.99 and they are around 30cm, and very good quality and healthy.

Noticed that on their website they are advertised at £2.97 so checked in store and although priced up at £3.47 they honoured the online price, hope this helps someone.

They are actually 20-30cm and look really healthy. Some of them are slow growing.

We have five Acres and found them easy to grow except the one called butterfly but with a little TLC and not to much sun it's now thriving!
