You have to pay extra for full Microsoft Office, it doesn't come with it: you get a year sub

ideal for a crappy computer to take on holiday to the US so if it gets damaged or stolen in your luggage you won't cry too much.

Yep and no one is going to want to nick it when it's that colour.

tempted to replace my much battered and bruised chromebook. hmm but to go back to the world of Windows on a low spec machine.

Looks OK but I think one of the main concerns with these type is that 32GB doesn't leave much space after Windows and Office.
So just be aware of this if you buy (and how to mitigate).
Could you fit an SSD into one of these? doesn't seem bad apart from being crippled by the the paltry 32" GB

No but you could add a large SD card for extra storage. It won't be as fast but will do the job. Tbh for a basic Windows laptop for browsing office etc. It's a great price....

Thanks I've just bought a tractor and ditched my car, should last me 20 years and I'll have plenty of potatoes. Talking of potatoes this tractor has a potato for an engine, slow as f*&k.
Talking of Macbooks the cheapest one I could find is the MacBook Air for £949, I spotted quite a price difference between that and this deal. I've decided to buy 6 of these HP laptops instead as that comes to £954 so yes £5 more than your deal, but 6 x 2 = 12 so that's 2 more years than the Macbook deal, think I got a bargain there.

I have a macbook but seriously, you are comparing a £159 to the cheapest macbook (air) for £949
even if this lasted you 2 years at £159 you could buy 6 of these over the course of the 10 years apparently a mac would last you.
