This is a lovely little weekend break to Paris in August 18-20th, so Friday to Sunday. It's using the Eurostar so great for those in London or easily and cheaply available to connect up to London using the trains, for example Virgin and London Midland have some great early bird offers for London fares. You can adjust the timing of the Eurostar train if you want to leave earlier or later too!
It's Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A weekend is Saturday and Sunday so yes, this is a long weekend.

I've amended the title so it is clear it is Friday til Sunday. Depending on exactly which Friday train you take, you will probably arrive in Paris Friday lunch. You then have the reminder of Friday, all day on Saturday and Sunday until you leave which depends on the time of the train you take back.

Well technically the new week starts on Sunday and it doesn't state staying Sunday nite which would make it along weekend.

It could happen anywhere. A terror attack could happen whilst on the bus, train, tube, shopping or at work, as well as on holiday. Nothing will stop me from travelling and I'm going to Jordan in October.

No problem, enjoy! I love the Eurostar, so much easier than the Paris airports.

Thank you! That hotel is now more expensive, but I just got the ibis Paris Bastille Opera 11th for £110, direct with Ibis.
Opening post
You will stay at the centrally located Ibis
https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g187147-d197647-Reviews-Ibis_Paris_Gare_de_l_Est_TGV-Paris_Ile_de_France.html which places you walking distance to many attractions or the metro is close by for ease too if you don't want to walk too much. Last time I went to Paris in August it was so so hot, don't forget suncream and enjoy a picnic with some bread, cheese and wine in the evening nr the tower.
