Not knocking the deal, but since I put a bottom drain in my pond maintenance has been so much easier. No pipes or wires at all, everything sits outside and is very easy to clean. Cost a bit more than this though, my UV blew last week and the replacement unit was £70 :disappointed:

Odd that it tells you its got an 11w UVc, but doesn't mention the wattage of the pump, so you can't work out its running costs.
Some of the new eco pumps with electronically controlled motors claim to use drastically less power than the standard ones. I'm after a new pump to replace a 3000l/h hozelock that's about 12 years old and showing its age. Claimed power consumption of ones with similar flow rate that I looked at range from about 12w to 70w. So the added running costs of the less efficient ones could soon mount up to more than the cost of the pump itself.

I actually have one which how I know this is a good deal. I think the pump about 35W from memory, but I'm not going to drag it out of the pond to have a look! It's nowhere near 3000 lph though, probably only half that.

Surely the flow through the UV chamber will be too high? Without a good dwell time it wont do anything useful

My pond cleared in about 2 days of fitting it, so it's doing something. It has a clear water guarantee.

As long as the bulb is good you don't need that much time TBH. I have an 8000lph and it was working fine with a 20w UV when in a smaller pond. I now have an 8000l pond, I still use the 8000 pump for now until I get my side skimmer plugged in but I have a 55w UV just to be sure.
My old UV died a few days ago (looks like the starter unit caught fire!) and my pond was green within 3 or 4 days to the point I could no longer see to the bottom. Put the new one in on Sunday and last night I could see fish on the bottom again, hoping within a few days it'll be clear again.

I bought a setup from FishMate a while ago. It didn't filter Koi poo at all. It just clogged up after about two hours use. After sales service was absolutely appalling and amateurish.
I am still quite annoyed now I think about it!

If it clogged up that fast there must have been a lot of poo!
My previous UV was a 9w straight tube one set into the lid of the filter box and made by hozelock it just about did the job, but the lid let in rain water submerging its mains electrics.

Dunno if any use, but 5Kg of fish food for £4 at amazon. Its an add on item and not in stock, but I added them to an order for trainers I was making anyway.
