Went for the 6p sticker deal posted weeks ago.. got charged 6p and £1 for customs or something because it was posted from china or because i paid in GBP while the website stated it in USD price.. cant remeber what exact reason but ended up paying more than stated. I hope this is not a 8p+£1 deal. Thumbs down for hidden charges

Problem with cheap cables is, will they charge quickly enough? I bought a bunch of cheapo fake-Samsung cables from ebay via China a while back and they charged soooooo slowly. Used Ampere and Galaxy Charging Current (Android) apps to test. Ended up giving them away!
These push just as much current as the (official) Blackberry cables I normally use - 99p each and different colours (HUKD member octopus alerted me to these) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182597711746 received them in about 8 days as well!!

Not sure about Gearbest, but I got a £1.50 currency charge for $0.01 (that's one cent) stickers from Aliexpress recently. Not sure what went wrong, as I always have GBP set as my default, which incurs no currency conversion charges. The site kept crashing, so that may be why.
Still to chase it up with my bank, might be that's what happened to you.
Never heard of customs charges for tiny $ or £ purchases from China? Hasn't it got to be over £15 or something?!

sigh
watch out
I was half asleep & 3 blue ones (they're way cooler) for £2.12 by mistake
somewhat rueing my failure to engage brain, 8p is good, 70p seems a bit rubbish

Some reviews suggest these cables are fast charging/fast data transfer, so that's good to know  Would buy one but I've just bought a bundle of the 99p ones recently.

Gearbest, or any other site can't tell you what currency charges you will incur during the purchase process as it varies between banks/cards. The provider of the card is to blame. My bank charges £1 plus 5%.
Pay via Paypal and they convert the balance to GBP at a fairly low rate, and you avoid the bank/card charge.

Great deal,i checkout with PayPal and only costed 8p,PayPal automatically changes the currency for free i think,I've checked my bank and only been charged 8p,so i don't think there is any hidden charges if you use PayPal.

I checked pending transactions and its says £0.08 by PayPal to the sellers name, its free to send money to different currencies on PayPal,because receipt shows paid £0.08 GBP into $0.10 USD,so there isn't any charge to pay in USD by PayPal.

I bought a couple of these. 1 failed early on and both charged so slowly that I don't use the other one. I'll never buy them again.

Tried to purchase but the payment page was hanging for ages (never like to cancel or reload on such payments but this had been stuck for 15 mins). Closed and tried again when I received above message. However, I subsequently received a confirmation email so looks like the original attempt went through.
Presumably the message I received will be for anyone trying to use the code a second time.
