you have to wonder why Ebay is doing this so often

I've been selling for 18y and these offers only really started 18m ago
Before then you might have got 5% fees once a year if you were lucky

they must be making massive losses when places like gumtree and facebook are free.

if it's an auction you can do the second chance offer thing, contact eBay and they'll apply the £1 offer

A result with this one.
I don't normally sell much on ebay, usually buy.
But, just sold a £200 item and the buyer looks like they're paying cash-on-collection.
£1 would be a positive.
More next time. ;-)
Thanks for posting OP.

My eBay (top bar drop-down) > Selling. There should be a "Promotional Offers" panel on that page, assuming that you have it set up to use the Seller Hub.

Hi, no i can't see anything, I'm a above standard seller i use eBay regularly to buy and sell, do you have a link to the page that shows these promotions?

using an auction or fixed price
format, then £0.35 per listing after

When viewing on a pc on your selling page right at the bottom under promotional offers there is a little "history" tab,if you click into it,it shows you all the previous offers you've accepted, have a look in there to see if you did indeed accept it.

on the selling page there are a summary list saying how many times you've used the £1 max selling fee offer. It will start from 100 and if you used one then it will become 99 and so on. Just make sure you check that number next time... taking screen capture of the offer doesn't mean anything at all...
midiman
25 Jun 17 1 #170
Make sure you takes screen captures of the offer. The last time I took them up on their £1 offer .I sold a load of stuff and got an invoice for £68. They denied outright they had made the offer and no all messages in my Ebay message box had disapearred. :disappointed:

1 or 3 day listings not relevant here. The offer is valid for any auction or BuyItNow of any length as long as the listing starts during the offer period (and you've accepted the offer). I've listed 30day BIN items that sold weeks after the offer dates and paid £1 seller fee.
tech_head
25 Jun 17 #167
Same for me too. I can't see anything in the Ts & Cs about 1 or 3-day listings not qualifying for the offer? http://pages.ebay.co.uk/promos/2017/103681.html

Just got the one day (25th) only offer - had previously checked the 2 day offer ("expired"). At least I can end and relist a couple of BIN items that end on Tuesday. Sold over £2000 of bits on the last couple of £1 offers, so has saved me a load.

As well as the usual eBay fee you also get deducted a Paypal fee from the selling price (2.5% of sale price if I recall correctly).

24 Jun 17 #134
Do you have to sell within the 25-26th or just list within those dates?
Zixxxx
23 Jun 17 #133
Ensure your listing begins within the time frame stated. You normally pay 10% for a sale e.g 10p for selling @ £1.00, or £1.00 for selling @ £10.00. Should your item be valued at anywhere between £10.00 - upwards, you will save, as you are listing at £1.00 max. Read the terms & conditions carefully as there are exemptions, such as Motor Vehicles. Good luck

If you don't get the invitation by tomorrow night, you are lost. I also have no any invitation, but it comes the day before, the promo does not apply for business, power and other super sellers. Every month this over saving me hundreds of pounds. The maximum ebay fee is £250 and 10% on any item sold under £2500, over £2500 it is just £250. The only pain is still paypal with their fees without any promotions + additional fees if buyer from overseas purchase your item. £1 promo by ebay is the best deal for individual sellers ever made, allowing you to sell expensive assets for free(£1)

That's why they are doing this every 2 weeks people are moving to different sites .

You will sell there cheaper and don't have so many people that want your items but after you sell something you will
know you sold that not like on ebay 3 weeks later somebody open dispute that game is not working (happened to me).,what can be defective in ps4 game?If you smash into pieces or make scratches obviously will not work.

Somebody played that for 3 weeks finished that and wants to send back to me on my expenses hahaha ,this place is a joke.

With the exception of one month last summer I've had offer after offer from eBay. Not complaining, but wish they'd just go back to 100 free listings a month, or better 200. As others have mentioned I assume their profits have slipped? The fees seem a little steep, but I can't argue with the worldwide audience it brings to your listings.

23 Jun 17 #106
I've also wondered why this keeps appearing.

I think that people have shifted their focus from selling on ebay to the sites you have mentioned.

One of the things thats the worst is the 180 days paypal time frame for disputes.

For the average seller, particularly if you sell an item that you can't send hte buyer another quickly - this is an awful long time.

You essentially have to set aside this money until 180 days has passed if you want ot be on the safe side.
xxOzzie63xx
23 Jun 17 2 #105
Yeah, sell for £1, buyer claims its fake/DOA/not as described etc, then demand return, scam you, ebay sides with buyer. Worst company in the world, ebay needs sellers, but **** on them when buyer asks for refund. ****

Massive losses? I doubt it very much.

I suspect the rate at which their profits are increasing has slowed down. Their profits must have seen a huge jump when they introduced fees on P&P a few years ago. I suspect they've reached a threshold and can't really increase fees anymore without losing a serious number of sellers, especially where there are alternatives out there. Those alternatives will only get bigger and more powerful if more sellers migrate to them from eBay and I think eBay know this.

Just my own thought.

I remember when the free ads paper 'Loot' dominated the scene for private sellers. They introduced all sorts of restrictions and (in my opinion) became a little arrogant, losing some of their respect for their own customers. Along came QXL, then eBay, and Loot's decline began. It happened then and it can happen again.

Looks like you eventually got lucky though because your pic says you've accepted the offer. When I click the link you used, it tells me that it's expired. So sad! Been waiting for this. Did you keep clicking on your link to get it to eventually go on the "accepted" result?

Heat from me but none of the links are working for me. One says expired and the other just loops back to HUKD page...I'm so gutted :disappointed:

On the previous two times I used this deal I had to tick the box for payment by Paypal or it wouldn't let me sell. Is that normal or can it be got around somehow?

Also is there an easy way to find out the cheapest way to deliver stuff (I'm a newbie to eBay selling and have never posted anything yet)?

These offers are awesome, on the last one it saved me £130 in fees!

once a month was better. don't like ending and relisting ads half way through. just didn't seem right.

This is the link for the deal as mentioned by OP - http://www.rsvp.ebay.co.uk/rsvp/signup/3286/C1fS-dWASW4

Clicking this i get this page.

But when i check in my selling page i cant see the offer being activated.
