On the previous two times I used this deal I had to tick the box for payment by Paypal or it wouldn't let me sell. Is that normal or can it be got around somehow?
Also is there an easy way to find out the cheapest way to deliver stuff (I'm a newbie to eBay selling and have never posted anything yet)?

23 Jun 17#84
Massive losses? I doubt it very much.
I suspect the rate at which their profits are increasing has slowed down. Their profits must have seen a huge jump when they introduced fees on P&P a few years ago. I suspect they've reached a threshold and can't really increase fees anymore without losing a serious number of sellers, especially where there are alternatives out there. Those alternatives will only get bigger and more powerful if more sellers migrate to them from eBay and I think eBay know this.
Just my own thought.
I remember when the free ads paper 'Loot' dominated the scene for private sellers. They introduced all sorts of restrictions and (in my opinion) became a little arrogant, losing some of their respect for their own customers. Along came QXL, then eBay, and Loot's decline began. It happened then and it can happen again.

chico808
23 Jun 17#106
I've also wondered why this keeps appearing.
I think that people have shifted their focus from selling on ebay to the sites you have mentioned.
One of the things thats the worst is the 180 days paypal time frame for disputes.
For the average seller, particularly if you sell an item that you can't send hte buyer another quickly - this is an awful long time.
You essentially have to set aside this money until 180 days has passed if you want ot be on the safe side.

With the exception of one month last summer I've had offer after offer from eBay. Not complaining, but wish they'd just go back to 100 free listings a month, or better 200. As others have mentioned I assume their profits have slipped? The fees seem a little steep, but I can't argue with the worldwide audience it brings to your listings.

That's why they are doing this every 2 weeks people are moving to different sites .
You will sell there cheaper and don't have so many people that want your items but after you sell something you will
know you sold that not like on ebay 3 weeks later somebody open dispute that game is not working (happened to me).,what can be defective in ps4 game?If you smash into pieces or make scratches obviously will not work.
Somebody played that for 3 weeks finished that and wants to send back to me on my expenses hahaha ,this place is a joke.

If you don't get the invitation by tomorrow night, you are lost. I also have no any invitation, but it comes the day before, the promo does not apply for business, power and other super sellers. Every month this over saving me hundreds of pounds. The maximum ebay fee is £250 and 10% on any item sold under £2500, over £2500 it is just £250. The only pain is still paypal with their fees without any promotions + additional fees if buyer from overseas purchase your item. £1 promo by ebay is the best deal for individual sellers ever made, allowing you to sell expensive assets for free(£1)

Total ebay selling noob here. Will this deal take effect from the 25th? I have something I want to list but I heard ebay takes 10% as a final seller fee. Is that right? Will this deal allow me to avoid that fee??
Zixxxx
23 Jun 17#133
Ensure your listing begins within the time frame stated. You normally pay 10% for a sale e.g 10p for selling @ £1.00, or £1.00 for selling @ £10.00. Should your item be valued at anywhere between £10.00 - upwards, you will save, as you are listing at £1.00 max. Read the terms & conditions carefully as there are exemptions, such as Motor Vehicles. Good luck

Just got the one day (25th) only offer - had previously checked the 2 day offer ("expired"). At least I can end and relist a couple of BIN items that end on Tuesday. Sold over £2000 of bits on the last couple of £1 offers, so has saved me a load.
1 or 3 day listings not relevant here. The offer is valid for any auction or BuyItNow of any length as long as the listing starts during the offer period (and you've accepted the offer). I've listed 30day BIN items that sold weeks after the offer dates and paid £1 seller fee.

on the selling page there are a summary list saying how many times you've used the £1 max selling fee offer. It will start from 100 and if you used one then it will become 99 and so on. ebay are taking the **** 35p insertion fee for every listing on auctions, what happened to the 100 free listings per month?

What offers do you now see in your My eBay pages? Anything unusual about your recent activity on the site? The free insertion fee offer is still working fine for me.

Hi, no i can't see anything, I'm a above standard seller i use eBay regularly to buy and sell, do you have a link to the page that shows these promotions?
all i see is this, List 20 items per month for FREE
in all categories (except Motors)
using an auction or fixed price
format, then £0.35 per listing after

My eBay (top bar drop-down) > Selling. There should be a "Promotional Offers" panel on that page, assuming that you have it set up to use the Seller Hub.
I currently have:

Anyone know what happens if the buyer cancels the order during this offer?
I assume have to relist losing the £1 final fee offer and pay full whack.

Unfortunately, relisting would be considered a new listing, not qualifying for the offer.

That's what I thought thanks. Just hope another comes along soon.

A result with this one.
I don't normally sell much on ebay, usually buy.
But, just sold a £200 item and the buyer looks like they're paying cash-on-collection.
£1 would be a positive.
More next time. ;-)

I've been selling for 18y and these offers only really started 18m ago
Before then you might have got 5% fees once a year if you were lucky
they must be making massive losses when places like gumtree and facebook are free.

Oh well, better luck next time I guess.
Your link goes nowhere btw.
Clicking this i get this page.
But when i check in my selling page i cant see the offer being activated.
Also is there an easy way to find out the cheapest way to deliver stuff (I'm a newbie to eBay selling and have never posted anything yet)?
If anyone can help im need of it urgently might get hit with £250 ebay fee otherwise
Any one else getting this message and why ??
Another dormant account - "invitation only"
Oh well maybe next time - would have been useful as a couple of BIN items listed from a previous offer end in a few days time.

that Shpock is awful.... full of scroats wanting to swap for fake rubbish or offering you half the price listed
It happened then and it can happen again.
from ebay
I think that people have shifted their focus from selling on ebay to the sites you have mentioned.
One of the things thats the worst is the 180 days paypal time frame for disputes.
For the average seller, particularly if you sell an item that you can't send hte buyer another quickly - this is an awful long time.
You essentially have to set aside this money until 180 days has passed if you want ot be on the safe side.
Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only.
I have a couple of £1,000 'ish items for sale currently. perhaps that might be what stopped me from being offered it this time round.
Anyone with high-priced items for sale qualified?
You will sell there cheaper and don't have so many people that want your items but after you sell something you will
know you sold that not like on ebay 3 weeks later somebody open dispute that game is not working (happened to me).,what can be defective in ps4 game?If you smash into pieces or make scratches obviously will not work.
Somebody played that for 3 weeks finished that and wants to send back to me on my expenses hahaha ,this place is a joke.
Free rent.
Make sure u lit 4 at least 5 days otherwise u b charged!!!!
Time to de-list and re-list... again.
---> then gone to All Selling, scrolled down & the offer was active in my a/c
worth checking when it becomes active @ midnight
also checked all selling and scrolled sown to offers. :disappointed:
I listed today in error!
All that hard work needs to be repeated tomorrow!
Cancel your listings, then on the day you want to list go to My Summary/Selling and go to UNSOLD, then tick the ones to relist.......then click...er....Relist.
Are you allowed to relist and still qualify for the £1 'max final value fee'?
I was going to start again.
But........................... I may list other things.
shame the saddos keep expiring it as it spoils it for other people
what can't they understand about invitation only?
SO EVEN IF THE LINK SAYS ERROR, CHECK YOUR SUMMARY.
Than you
it is now 00:47AM UK time is it okay to sell now? I am confused timezones always **** my brain up
