i didn't say the valour was the better deal. I was asking what the better deal would be. in the end, I was told you can get 10% off the parva if you ask in online chat/help. that would make the parva a lot cheaper at around £165. The online assistant said that they had made a click and collect with the discount, but it seems the 10% discount hasn't been applied. I will have to go in store and see.

Unless you're doing some semi-serious off-road stuff that suspension will be a hindrance rather than a help.
Parva will be the better choice for most users, especially at £165.

Has any one had any success with the 10% on the parva ? I'm looking for something for distance rather than going off road.

The compromises on the bike seem to be a very basic and fairly heavy short travel fork and tourney derailleurs but the bike does have a cassette based rear wheel so upgrading is easy. The reviews state a few gear problems. Frame looks great. I suspect a few other components will be steel rather than aluminium but generally a nice bike and well worth the money. I'd personally be looking to change the rear derailleur fairly quickly though. Tourney's can be very problematic when they get dirty and are relatively short life. They become more problematic when used with a triple chainset and more finicky and difficult to adjust precisely. However saying that many of the tourney adjustment issues are normally related to freewheel wobble which makes adjustment more difficult but this is cassette based so the chain line is more consistent. The forks do appear to have preload adjustment unlike the very basic models fitted to BSO's which will make them more tolerable.

Thanks I did check and seen that. However I don't think the quality will be great for long term use so I've given it a miss as it was to short notice for me ro fully decide and will continue my wait for a second hand bike. Thanks for the reply though.

I got a parva begining of 2015 and done 4000 miles on it so far totally faultless, only thing I have changed is the seat as there very hard. Gears and brakes are excellent and a really nice bike to ride.

Great to hear. My last experience with a cheap bike didn't go to well. I'm a fan of quality over quantity but to be honest in the flesh they did seem OK. I maybe should of went for it but my fut tells me to wait as I'm not 100% sure on type at the moment. Thanks for the input it's great to hear its lasted well for you.:smiley:
