How much is your head worth to you. Hope its more than 30 quid. Stick with the likes of Arai or Shoei etc.

Yes and no. The cheaper helmets are made of similar materials, more expensive helmets are made with lighter and better composite materials. Essentially through they all need to pass the same tests. The key differences are in things like the quality of the vents, visor and liner which becomes more and more apparent over use. better quality helmets stay good for a long time after cheaper helmets get baggy and worn out.
That said, there are many brands that are good quality without being £300. I've tried quite a few and if your budget it lower then look at the likes of scorpion and agv. Trying different brands on in a shop is crucial as helmet manufacturers have different shapes e.g more narrow or rounded and a well fitting £100 helmet will be better than a poor fitting or uncomfortable £400 helmet.

If you're a frequent go-karter who doesn't like the sweaty helmets/hairnets provided this ain't a bad deal. But for a motorbike, or 70mph+ outdoor karts I'd 'steer' well clear.

Buying a helmet online is only a good idea if you've already tried it on in a shop. No need to spend hundreds (or even more than a hundred) but please, do some research. Try this site . Also, do a search for the "Hurt report" which busts the myth of expensive helmets with regards to safety (they may be much nicer, last longer and look/feel better, but not be safer). Bottom line, it's you head, how much is it worth to you? As this lid is not rated, I'd just steer clear...

Spend some money and protect your brain properly (I'm a motorcycle instructor so u have an idea what I'm talking about). Crap like this shouldn't be on sale
