Not yet a hot deal but worthy of putting on the highlights list..... makes you wonder if Argos paid to have it put there

After their price hike after vote leave, it’s still more expensive then when it launched.
This isn’t a deal.

Great price, even better than the price on the Apple refurb store! (£569)

So new was already cheaper than a refurb? How does that work?

The RRP is £549, how is a refurb even more expensive?
Can't imagine myself getting too excited, the small difference in price to the new ones makes the idea of paying premium price for none premium tech feel a bit insensible. I was hoping there would be bigger drops on old tech when the new ones came out but at this price you may as well get the new ones if possible.
I mean the storage alone is worth £50 by Apple's usual pricing scheme so to then get the additional faster screen, processor, graphics, better cameras (probably go unused anyway though) and if you're going for the smaller version you even get more screen space now since that went from 9.7" to 10.5".

I’ve got a gen 1. This isn’t a big enough saving. The new one has been universally acclaimed to be better. The 120 refresh being the key issue! Really would say the processor and screen are worth the extra. £150 then maybe.

I've just gone from a first gen 12.9 ipad pro to the new 12.9 ipad pro and the display is quite a big upgrade over the old model with the 120hz ,most dont know but it is actually a HDR display.I was lucky enough to be able to test both out side by side and ran a number of performance tests, and the new model is a big jump in power.
Defo worth paying the extra to get the new model if funds allow it.

The storage tiers are doubled too. Problem for me is I have the Air 2 and I had a Pro 12.9 but the Air 2 did everything I wanted and had the better display that the 'new iPad' lacks. Probably will get a Pro 10.5 as the extra screen real estate is very nice but not as cumbersome as the 12.9.
I know the reviews say the new one is better but I wonder if they would saythat if it was their own money being spent on it!

can you explain why 120Hz matters? This is the first tablet where someone talks about the Hz. I see it on TVs and monitors - but what in a tablet makes this desirable or noticable?

Have had this iPad for a year and it's great, but I'd recommend to look for one on eBay as I managed to get a new 32gb cellular for £430 last summer

The price rise was nothing to do with Brexit as they put there prices up everywhere bar the usa. It’s to do with greed!
