There's an issue and there's been a lot of sick babies, I wouldn't touch one. Google it and you'll read lots of stories about these machines having mould and making babies sick.
actually if you read around in mumsnet it turns out it's because people weren't looking after their machines. i.e. not changing the filter when it says to do so. we've bought one for our little one (1 month today) and it's been a life saver at 3am
