I'm a tightwad too! and bought Witcher 3 soon after release from GOG (via Ukrainian proxy I seem to remember; It was a HUKD deal!).
I think I paid about this much (though not GOTY obviously), and I've not regretted it once; an enormous game with compelling characters & story telling.
I knew of Witcher 1 & 2, and even owned them both, but had never got around to playing them.
I don't think this lack of background knowledge diminished the experience too much, and it's easy enough to watch a few youtube videos to recap the important events from W1 & 2.
My only regret is that the machine I played it on wasn't all that great, so I didn't get the silky smooth, ultra gorgeous visuals that my new machine would deliver..... maybe I'll play through it again  (probably not tho)

There is a heck of a lot of dialogue in this game, I admit to skipping a fair bit of side quest chit chat, well certainly the silly ones (of which there was a few)
But for under £18, there is a LOT of gaming to be had here, bargain.

If you've the time this is probably one of the greatest games ever crafted. Emphasis being on crafted - every part of the game feels hand made.
I say this with 130+ hours
