i used to have one of these and it doesnt give off much cool air at all. ended up buying a deepcool x6 cooling pad and this works a treat.
with the targus cooler my laptop temps would get in the high 80 degrees, with the deepcool its in the low 50's.
worth the extra money.

I haven't used this particular product, but can confirm that Deepcool's range of coolers (as mentioned above) are great. I have an x6 and an x8, the x6 is brilliant.

To be honest I would just steer away from these things - and look into undervolting your CPU to keep it cooler.
