Can anyone vouch for these? The recent reviews look a bit damning.

Can vouch. Bought one of these when me and the wife were snowed in at a hotel......

for a fiver is it not worth a risk. I bought a tesco basic axe about 4 year ago for a fiver and it still cuts logs for the burner so for a fiver it's a no brainer.

Use a mattock instead of an axe, much more efficient.

Great find, I just need to find a good source of Gaffa tape and body sized plastic tarpaulin and I'm all set up :stuck_out_tongue:

Ahhh, remember the olden days where everything no matter the price was free delivery! We all know about Amazon's tax dodging and poor employee treatment but must have had an effect on total sales!
I'll pass as spending £20 to add my chopper is only for weekends!

Apart from the fact that it's pretty difficult to saw through roots that are below the level of the soil...

They didn't say they want to dig up or remove the hedge. They want to chop it down. That means removing plant matter above the ground.

You assume. Either way, a mattock is still the best tool for the job.

Its what they said and its a deal for a hatchet. An 'assumption' based on facts. You assume they mean something they didn't say. Shrug.

I do apologise. I shall be sure to ask for your express permission in future, before I deign to offer someone an alternative solution based on my own experience. Yawn.
