I had some of the bypass pruners and the handles just snapped when cutting a branch about 5mm thick. Not at all robust. Save your money.

I'm gonna take a thick branch in and ask to see if it will cut it. If it does neatly, I might be buying a couple sets.:wink:

They we struggle with thick tree branches. I used them the weekend to trim a blossom tree, and it did struggle with some of the thicker branches. But for £7 they did the job for me, so can't complain, especially for the price.
As with all cutting equipment, you need to sharpen them regularly.
