Thanks OP... the matching kettle is also £9.88! It took a bit of effort after a trip to my local to find them still at £39 - however a phone call to head office and a short trip later to another tesco where I got the last Toaster and also the matching kettle for £9.88 each!
Can confirm this is definately nationwide as both instore staff and head office confirmed this price in several locations where they are reduced to clear as discontinued lines, however it's not in EVERY store.

Looks nice, but you have to force bread into each of the slots after starting it

None in either colchester store, but there were two of the reduced kettles at tesco hythe.
