Absolutely cracking deal. I use the points and take dates out to pizza express (4x points value - winner), then afterwards back for some Now TV and chill...back of the net.

Also doing boxes with 6 months ents/4 months movies for £25 plus 500 points. Might suit someone not so interested in points, but two of this £15 deal better value if you can use the points.

Aren't the four/six month ones usually about £19.99 when they're on offer anyway. I got one last month at that price at Argos. And they're often available at Tesco for the same price. So with this, you're not really getting anything for free. You're paying extra for being restricted to shopping/using the points in Tesco.

Twin Peaks: May 21, 2017, ends September 3, 2017 (18 episodes) Game of Thrones (season 7): July 16, 2017 ends August 27, 2017
Can't catch them both unless you buy two passes/boxes. I'm tempted to buy a second box...
DexMorgan
18 May 171#12
I bought one because I thought 3 months would be enough for Twin Peaks!
raj75
18 May 172#13
I did quick calculation. May 21st to Sep 3rd is 106 days. Now TV usually has the episodes for 28 days. So you only need pass for 78 days. So 3 months is enough.
But at this price/offer, good to buy another.
EQL
18 May 172#14
This is good money-saving advice  I hadn't really thought about how long they'd keep it on catch-up, so we'd need to start our subscriptions about 3 weeks after Twin Peaks starts - so, the 11th June.
raj75
18 May 17#15
That's the idea, but make sure you check after May 21st, how long they keep catch-up.
Sometimes they keep catch-up for 1 week, sometimes for few months.
DexMorgan
18 May 171#16
Oh now I understand the calculation!
But I'm not sure I can wait 3 weeks to start watching twin peaks knowing it's available!
Yeah, Tesco did the £19.99 bundles until recently as I bought one. This appears to be the best 'deal' around for the moment but I'm sure it'll be back to the £20 mark soon enough. Guess it boils down to how much you like pizza (or the wait for the club card boosts).
jans
19 May 17#22
They stopped the Clubcard Boost last year in May. So that's no longer an option.

so what happens after the 3 months? do I have to phone up and cancel to prevent a 4th month charge? also does the 3 month free start from when I purchase or when I setup?

You just cancel online through your account. The 3 months start from when you activate the code on the website.

just looking on ebay, folk offering half price monthly sky sports codes which looks tempting but not sure how legit that is

Is there a time limit as to when you can activate the code? OOS at the moment though.
Sammykate to ryan2801
19 May 172#41
I sat on my last code a good few months as was waiting for something decent to come back on before I restarted the entertainment package. Not sure what the actual T&Cs are though in terms of time limit. I would suspect there isn't one as the box/code could be sat on the shelf for months waiting to be bought?

Can confirm that it's in store as well just went in a brought movie one and got 515 clubcard points. They had movies, entertainment, sport and kids boxes (not sure which ones are in the deal) so if entertainments showing out of stock for you online maybe worth checking your local Tesco!

Check ebay, you might get more but deals like this tend to flood the site with 'box with no pass' listings.
You'd get more if you could still sideload Plex :disappointed:

Yep, you can just apply the code to your current box. I (and many others) do this all the time, which is why I now have ten spare boxes that I need to get shot of!

Never used now tv before, but got free passes with 'snatch' then got an email for free refurbished box.

19 May 17#53
The codes DO have an expiry date, I had to call SKY up as my 6 Month code expired. They asked me a few questions and the serial number of the box, and then issued me another code. You can also call them, or live chat, and they will give you the expiry date.
As to selling the box. You could split it up, or have a 2nd remote. The PSU may come in useful, also a HDMI cable is included.
Good deal. I always buy one when ShopTo do them for around £10 and share my account with a friend or two, as long as only two watch at once.
If you have a router that has a VPN built in, then I guess you could use it in the states.
A good tip is to cancel the service AS SOON as you can after applying the code, and it will run until it the expiry date. No chance of being charged, if you forget.

Although very limited usability outside Sky's ecosystem now due to dev option and usb port blocking - dam good hardware inside and box is super smooth, it's actually a ROKU box subsidised by Sky (if you didn't know), don't expect a solution anytime soon for those who want to tinker. Good deal though...Wish there was a way to flash it with ROKU f/ware, not bad for the free apps.

Can anyone confirm if the following is doable?
Set up this box on a new account
Take the 2 months entertainment for the price of 1 that now tv are offering on their site
Cancel that before it runs out so I only pay £6.99 for 2 months
Then apply the 3 month code that came with this?
Thanks in advance for help

But if I were you, I will buy another 3 month box, instead of £6.99 for 2 months offer.
DexMorgan
20 May 171#70
Thanks
I thought about that but even after the 500 points back I'm paying £3 more for a box I don't need and an extra month I won't use
I'm not bothered about sky atlantic after twin peaks ends!

Still loads in stock in Hull, St Stephens. Got myself 3 boxes (nine months of viewing), for £45, £15 back in clubcard points, plus £3 per box from CEX, so that's nine months of viewing for £21. Job's a good 'un!
