From time to time this site has deals for Norman Wisdom box sets. Well here's one you won't have seen before. For various reasons this film had a limited theatrical release in 1960 and was never seen again on the big or small screen. The first time I heard of it was in 2008. A print had been located with a private collector and a showing of the film took place in a cinema in Darwen. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/1979371.lost_norman_wisdom_film_to_be_shown_again/
Like everyone else aware of it, I hoped it would eventually get a wider release and now it finally comes to DVD. Sadly Norman Wisdom died in 2010 at the age of 95 so never got to see this again. But now we all can. It feels a bit like when lost Doctor Who episodes or other film or tv from the past turn up, available to all for the first time in decades. Let's hope this release is a success in honour of a great comedian and much loved man.
On creating an account, the Network price is showing as £6.50 inclusive of postage. More or less the price of a cinema ticket and an absolute bargain. Costs more on Amazon.
