I don't get many opportunities to post deals, as I don't live in the the U.K! Maybe this is a first, I don't know?
Thanks for all the times this site has helped me, very grateful to the contributors for that. It helps me to plan how to spend my money when I come over!
Anyhow, I've been looking at smart watches for a while now and finally settled on this. It has been this price before, recently and may have been even cheaper in the past. But right now, this is as cheap as I can find one for. Hope I'm right.
This is a gift...
*edit* turns out that these watches may be supplied "new" but in an opened box both from amazon and scan direct. So as long as the prices are cheaper on scan, I would suggest buying from them direct to save a few quid.
Its a good price for a great watch and nothing come close, keep your daft opinions to yourself.

Just opened mine, box was dirty but otherwise sealed (with EE stickers mind...). Watch looks brand new and all accessories in tact and also sealed, there's even still plastic on the watch face, no dead pixels so all in all, I'm quite pleased!

Scan really are a mess. Following my negative review they arranged an RMA for the watch a) without contacting me and b) without me asking for it. Have to say this was my first order from them in years and it will be my last. Had they had the courtesy to contact me with an explanation I would have given them props. An unsolicited RMA is just lazy and poor service.

Hi mate
I got mine direct from scan, mine was initially having problems upgrading to Android wear 2.. It would download the update partly then flag a problem and not continue..
I performed a factory reset on the watch, re-paired and set it all up again and then it allowed me to download the update and install it no problem and watch is working flawlessly now
I hope this helps
poochieparker9
9 May 17#94
Yeah, I've just emailed amazon about scan, too. Guess the more people who do it, the more likely they will "look into it". maybe it's wishful thinking, but hopefully they will label open box items as such, in future.

I logged a job with LG as my watch had a dead pixel, they said the watch was manufactured 2 years ago, I explained to them that scan was selling it as new and they asked for proof of purchase so I sent my invoice and a screenshot of their selling page to them, they are collecting my smart watch this week and taking it in for repair
poochieparker9
9 May 17#91
Not sure if you bought from scan or amazon. But I asked if they would refund the difference between the two prices, they said no, but could return the watch for a full refund. Scan website says that they give you 14 calendar days to return a product for a full refund, too. If that helps?
Good luck with the AW2 installation, though. Sure it will be fine!

Mine arrived (Amazon). Clearly not new, protective plastic on rim of watch but nothing over face. All bits appeared intact but warranty seals etc broken.
Im planning on keeping it but will register a complaint with Amazon - its sharp practice / illegal to sell items as new that clearly arent.

Looks as though the deal has expired now, not available to purchase from Scan and the Amazon deal has vanished too.
I'd still like to know why these are classed as 'Open Box', are they customer returns? I'm also curious to know how they come with Android Wear 2 installed, isn't that an OTA update?

Oh no! Feel as though I have mislead people myself now. That really sucks!
feel that it is wrong that they sell it "new" on amazon. Certainly feel a little duped, myself.
Won't be making that mistake again. Still, I guess it's not a bad price if it's new and not a refurbished item.
Looking at the scan site it suggests that the watch is supplied with android wear 2.0 installled? Can anyone who picked on up from scam confirm if this is correct?

Just spoke to Scan on their live chat, both their listing on the website and their Amazon listing are for open box items. I told them they are mis-selling as new on Amazon and they didn't seem to care.
So beware, you won't get a brand new sealed item even through Amazon.

"Open box as new" is not the same as "new" though. And they shouldn't be advertising it as such if it is the former.

I have the R and 2.0 is a disaster for me. Ok Google 10-15 secs to respond (if at all) all apps take forever to start. Factory reset doesnt help, and the forums suggest plenty people in same boat. Seems it's locked to one core. Instructions available online to downgrade back to 1.5 or to open up more cores. I'm going to downgrade as 2.0 removed a lot of features that I used. Seems like a great deal though!

I've never had an issue with scan when I've needed to use their customer service. Bought a motherboard and processor from Them when I lived in the U.K. The processor fried so drove over to them and they tested it and it was faulty, at their expense of another processor. 6 May 17#4
Yes, it's not the prettiest. I liked the huawei classic. I'm a fan of huawei since the p6 phone tbh (though it was impossible to repair). However, I looked at it yesterday and it just felt a little plasticky. Most of the bad comments about this watch is about the size, but I've measured my wrist and I think I can just about pull it off! This watch had a few more features than the huawei classic reading some compare websites.
