Went out on the hunt for a cheap extension lead this morning, didn't think shelf price of £20 was bad for this 20m reel, but at the counter I noticed it only came to £10!!

The only 20M Everyready extension lead in our local store is 24:99, though not marked up on shelf at that price. No thank you, I said.

Make sure you unreel the whole thing before using it with anything that draws significant current - otherwise it'll melt into one big lump!

Yup. This is one aspect of use few people understand. Some of the better makes do give the max wattage permitted under both reeled and extended conditions clearly on the central hub area.

That's why it's got a thermal cutout.

Voted cold. My dad has one and it is a bloody good workout unwinding it.

The 20m Everready ones in our our local store were red in colour. This combined with the lack of shelf price suggests to me that they were new stock and the black ones, as per this deal, are old clearance stock. I think the chance of finding any more, in any store, is pretty much zero.

No, you didn't. Well, not a 20m, 4 gang, 13 amp one.
