No splinters in my ass but I agree with both sides on this healthy debate.
I'll buy this but the pizza & garlic bread will accompany a salad, the onion rings with low fat quorn burgers & salads, the wedges with whatever & the ice cream as a pud or treat, its not in the contract to eat it all in one go is it?!

The problem is that "people with not a lot of money" are being enticed with cheap junk food. It would be really easy for the Co-op (and other supermarkets) to offer deals like this but with much healthier options, but they don't - they are contributing to the obesity crisis. My wife works with people on lower incomes/benefits, who need help with their weight - and one of their main complaints is the price of "healthy" foods.
I'd love to see a healthy options £5 meal deal once in a while - it's not impossible.

Why do people have to make snide comments, but a family with not a lot of money, would be a god send, once a month a meal like this is OK all the time, then it's a problem.

Because Coops £5 deals were alot better once.
Now it's just cheap rubbish.
If people with little money depend on these then they have bigger problems.

it's just a shame they don't have a similar cheap deal with healthy/diet / low fat meals. since starting to try to lose weight my food bills have more than doubled.

There is a fresh meal deal that started today that has chicken breasts or prawns plus noodles plus veg plus stir-fry sauce for £5. You can go without dessert for the diet. Unfortunately it isn't listed on the Co-op website.
