I have this watch and it's still going strong after 7 years except the strap snapped. It's sat on the side for me to pick up and use at work when I put my current watch down and the pixies move it elsewhere...

Anyone know if yu can take the strap off and use a NATO strap instead? If so anyone know the strap width?

Good watch and good price. I'm on my 2nd one now as the strap broke after about 2 years of quite a bit of abuse at work. I paid £14 two weeks ago.

LOVE THIS WATCH! Once I had to replace the strap and saw that the watch costs less than the strap, so I bought another watch LOL

Got a similar casio for the same price a couple of years back, perfect watch for taking on holiday for going to the beach, etc battery still going strong.

Not such a good deal as battery will last way longer than strap.
Amazon replaced mine twice when strap broke after about a year of use.
However I do really like the watch. The annoying thing is the strap isn't a standard fit. It uses 2 little screws for each strap rather than a pin. So not as cheap as most casio straps to replace. I just got a strap on eBay for £5, so factor in a few of these to the cost when you buy.

Every cheap Casio watch I've bought with a resin strap (a lot of them over the years) has had the strap break within a year or so. I eventually learned to pay a bit more for the metal strap versions, though I have to knock out two links at least to get them to fit my wrist.

I tried a different tack with my latest Casio resin strapped watch - I paid a lot more for it (it's the Pro Trek PRW 2500 - got it for 109 quid) and the resin strap is way better quality - it hasn't looked anywhere close to breaking. Love the PRW 2500, though I miss being able to switch the date format away from the "wrong" US format that my previous Casio let me do :-(

No offense, but that's the stupidest thing I've read on these forums, ever. It's their job to do it. If they are judgmental about a Casio watch then it means they are a bunch of stupid idiots and I fail to see how you should be embarrased by it. But I think it's a made up fear, just go to timpsons, they will replace the battery in 5 minutes for a few quid and that's it.


What a fantastic world we live in where instead of worrying about war, cancer or having food on the table the concerns are about getting embarrassed for paying someone to do their job. If that's not a first world problem then I don't know what is.

At least you got that off your chest, but the day Timpsons charge a few quid to replace a battery is a long way off (£19.99 is more like it).

The Pixies probably did a google search and replaced the strap at a reasonable cost. My Casio GW-500e is solar powered and the battery is expected to outlive the watch. !0 years+ and still on my wrist - seen it fair share of sea and swimming baths. Strap replaced last year for the first time, replacement easily found and used existing screws..

had one of these for about 6 years, has taken loads of abuse, still working fine. Battery change shouldn't worry you for 10 yrs, probably time for a new watch by then!
