I've seen this as low as £48 in the past so only because of that have to vote cold.

Amazon reviews say the hammer aspect of this drill (and the Black and Decker equivalents) isn't reliable since it would struggle to go into brick although it doesn't mention if using a masonry bit. With regards to safety the drill bit would work itself loose from the keyless chuck - think one guy mention the bit came out and he almost impaled himself and on another occassion the bit flew out and hit the shower cubicle door.

The chuck loosens if you haven't tightened it properly, as for struggling with masonry I haven't noticed it struggle with much, using mostly 6-12mm, it easily gets to my required depth. No it's not gonna handle it like an SDS drill but for most jobs it's grand.

Do you have one of these Bosch drills? Are you speaking from experience having used this in exactly the same way the range of reviews on Amazon suggest? If not then you word is only as valid as those of countless other faceless reviewers on Amazon and is very much a case of individual experiences will vary.

Absolutely not. 1.5Ah battery has a very short run time under load.
Nice to see you can construct an argument though.

Think this is the same as mine - utterly fantastic little thing.

Good light duty drill. The better Bosch drills (blue) or kits with bigger battery capacity (this has 2 1.5Ah batteries, or so it seems) are sometimes available for not much more and also worth considering if not in a rush

WHAT??? the only way you could get a blue one anywhere near this price, would be code-stacking. If you can find a blue one somewhere near this price (esp. with 4ah batteries) PLEASE POST IT.

With a one hour charger and 1.5Ah batteries, the batteries are unlikely to overlap in use/charging - any reasonable sized job and you'll be sitting waiting for batteries to charge.

Hot deal and very tempting, as my ni-cad bosch has just died, but think I'd rather have a higher amp battery.

Two smaller batteries are cheaper, lighter, and can be alternating in the charger or a different tool. Just my (novice DIY!) opinion.

with 2xbatteries that's a cracking deal. got an older version of this and still going strong with original batteries. Moderate DIY use.
