Don't miss this deal if you need bulk storage at the best price per TB possible.
These drives are perfect for external or internal use. I rip them apart and use them in my big tower pc to back up all my data. This will bring my total up to 24tb.
Hope this is helpful to someone as this is the lowest price on amazon so far.

It's a good price....but i'm sticking to the 2tb....because every harddrive fails eventually, even your backups of backups
besides, it's always better to spread your bets... failure wise and recovery of your data....4 x 2tb than 1 x 8tb

No idea why this is cold. Great price for a 8TB at the moment

I know right! I'm trying to figure out how coldness vs hotness is calculated. My notification says 15 people voted Hot!?! Weird.
So do these have SATA connectors on the inside? A lot of external drives these days don't and just have the USB controllers soldered onto the drive.

Great question! I guess I'll keep you posted... The 3.5" drives that I've ripped apart typically are usb to sata connector that you just unplug. I'm hoping this is the same. I've not seen a soldered one yet!

From amazon comments, it have sata connector and you can take it out to use as internal HDD. also i never heard of external HDD being soldered. every external hdd i have has sata and can be taken apart.

I have given up quest to understand how heat is added/calculated. Seems like gimmick.
