Quite possibly the greatest deal I have ever posted... I have officially peaked, and it's all downhill from here :disappointed:
Who knew this was a thing?!? This handy little 3.5mm plugs into your phone, and can control any IR device, including your TV, Blu Ray player etc! Compatible with most iPhones/ iPads (that have a headphone jack ).
Use code GBPlug on the BLUE version to get advertised price!

I'm guessing that they only mention apple compatibility as that is what the app is for. If you could find a suitable android app I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work.

As an Android user I guess they made it for the iPhone first as they do not have infra red where a lot of Android phones do have it?
Like somebody else said all it would take to get it working on Android would be the app as I guess the app just sends signals to the headphone socket which in turn gets changed into infrared.

Also as an IOS user android have the best of everything already, such a large range of apps and free to use software which IOS can't get due to apples monopoly on the system.

Android already make an app that doesnt require this to use it. iOS doesn't which is probably why they make this.

The customer Q&A at the bottom has a response which says Apple only. Can anybody give a definitive answer otherwise?
It's a shame none of them seem to have a learning mode like my One4All remote, you'd think it would be possible using a phone camera since they can see IR.
Timmyboybunter

Remember this is not an IR blaster though - it's just something sticking into the earphone socket unless there is an android app that can actually make use of it. Peel etc. will not work.

am i missing something here? don't pretty much ALL recent phones have a IR blaster built in and you just need an app to use it? Like my 4 year old Galaxy S4?
Still using my old Samsung galaxy S4 active as a remote for my 15 year old dvd player (which has no buttons on and the remote broke) so IR blaster definately worth having. Also use as a toy for 18 month old so the robustness also worthwhile...great investment my S4 active!
