I posted a similar deal last year when Aldi were selling what I considered to be a very good Mitre Saw for £79.99. Initially I thought this was the same model but it's clearly different and has a 1900W motor.
This appears to be an online deal only and as usual it comes with a 3 year warranty.

Edit - removed Double Bevel as it's been confirmed that it only bevels on one side by 45 degrees (common with many Mitre saws)

I work in an Aldi distribution centre and seen these being loaded into the lorries for delivery to stores, I think it was marked up for sale for Thursday but not 100% sure on that, they also have a stand for it for £39.99.
Just checked online, on sale in stores from Thursday 20th April.

Is it compound like the Rage3-S?
(Seems compatible to Rage3-S if it's single bevel and compound, although 1900w instead of 1500w - or is there something else?)

This one can make wider cuts than Rage 3s, 300mm vs 220mm. Depth is the same at 60mm.

thank you for the reply. Forgive my ignorance, is the wider cut a good thing? I read that the evo can cut wood plastic and metal is this the same? (heat regardless for the price) I'm just in the market for a mitre saw and wondering what the better one is.

I would have thought that the materials that it can cut is a function of the blade, not the unit itself. So if you wanted to use a sliding mitre saw to cut metal and plastic, you could buy a rage blade for an Aldi saw (if / when the need arises).
I'll gladly be told I'm wrong however...

Similar saw £10 cheaper at Lidl from Thursday. Does anyone know the weight of the Aldi and Lidl saws? Interested but it has to be portable.

It's worth pointing out that the rage blades have a (relatively uncommon) 25.4mm bore. I don't know the bore of this Aldi saw, but it's likely to be different so you may not be able to get a Rage blade to fit.
You can get adapter rings on eBay and the like however, just wanted to point out it's not necessarily going to be as easy as buying one new blade.

This was on in my local Aldi, I took some pictures so that I could check them out when I got home.
I have got addicted to watching youtube vids on woodworking but think this is a bit of overkill really.

That's true about the bore and if the aldi saw has a bigger bore the evolution blade is not going to fit.

The other point about retro fitting an alternative multi-material blade is that the speed of the spindle may be too high. When I looked at this for my circular saw think I discovered the evolution ones run slower but with more torque. Not sure if the same is true of the mitre saws but worth checking if you are considering retro fitting a different blade to the Aldi one

We have a suitable blade for cutting aluminium at work and it's just in one of our standard Dewalt mitre saws, same ones as we use for wood. If I was paying round about the £100.00 mark I think I would buy the Evolution version. I am sure the Aldi one is fine. I have an 8" sliding compound mitre saw that I inherited and it's only a cheap B & Q one. I set it up every time I use it and it's fine. Cuts perfect mitres and straight cuts and does 7" skirting without issue.

Bore is the same size on the Aldi one at 25.4mm according to the spec on Aldi website.

The Aldi website now says 30mm - not sure if that's changed recently though (I didn't see the size at all when i looked yesterday!)
The no-load speed is also a good reason NOT to use a multi-purpose blade in this saw - it spins at 5000rpm, which is twice the speed of the equivalent Rage saw.

I bought this from Aldi about 18months ago but it has stopped working! :disappointed: It is supposed to have 3 year warranty but not sure where to go to get it sorted, any help please?

Yes, they have changed it. The blade size last night said 255mm / 25.4mm and I agree on the rpm. Would possibly be ok for aluminium but for steel a definite no no.
