My answer would be "much needed"....... you will be calling out Sony every 6 months for a failed DPS board, where they replace it with the same suspect part and low and behold several months later, another call out.
Be warned, Sony Quality Control has nose dived, one look on the Sony forums will tell you all you need to know

While this is a good price in theory, any potential buyer should be aware that this model is plagued with problems. I would avoid personally, it's cheep for a reason.

I have this TV (well the 09c variant, only diff is motionflow is 1000hz, negligible) and i have been super surprised with how good it's been. i paid £600 in august last year and it has been worth every penny. The android system, while not necessarily the fastest (not sluggish though) is by far the most versatile. I've got 2 Samsung's smarts in the house and one lg and another cheapo linsar smart TV and this outshines them all by a million. wireless display from Windows 10/kodi installable from apostore/VLC media player available straight from apostore. let's you connect a ps4 controller to play silly android games on it. Ability to cast and play Spotify while the TV is "off" . 2 usb 2 slots and 1 usb3. You view built in which is fantastic for catchup makes it so simple, you normally have to buy a youview box to get that. "Chromecast built in" functionality.
I've recommended this deal to everyone i know looking for a TV and I've bought one for my mum

Love the look of this tv but some of the reviews are pretty scathing. Really wanted to treat myself this bh but the mere fact this tv was entry level 1.5years ago puts me off anyway

How does this stack up against the other telly that came up earlier in the week - LG 43UH603V? I'm keen to pick one up but both seem pretty good.
Had the 50' for nearly a year and literally no problems whatsoever. Was an amazon return model as well.
