Statravel are doing a promotion where beach holidays flights are being sold as £49 return. I saw the advert online and was thinking it probably for flights to Spain or Portugal but apparently first offering is Langkawi in Malaysia. Normal return flights to Malaysia cost over £400 so its a right bargain.
Getting the offer is a little draw of luck. in 4 days the link posted will reveal the shop which is selling the flights for £49. you can call the shop (google to get the shop number) or just show up. If you are the first 49 person to book, you will get the flight for £49 return.
This promo is to run every week, with new destinations added and again return flight being £49. Probably worth bookmarking to see what other flight offers comes up.

Outstanding deal. Langkawi is also the duty free centre of Malaysia so booze and chocs are crazy cheap

And food. But it's not very lively. Civilised enough but I found it lacked character.
Edit: but a great cheap way to get into Asia.

Beautiful place but there is a box Jellyfish problem on the beach and the nutty Muslim planners have driven out most of the businesses that sell alcohol and caused prices to rocket.
Langkawi's tax free status used to mean that you could go out and have lunch in a little family restaurant with a couple of beers for cheap but the puritanical idiots have ruined all that.
These tickets are great value but would be best used to fly to Langkawi immediately prior to hopping on a ferry to Satun in Thailand and from there to somewhere a bit more tourist friendly like Ko Lanta.
