Fear Comes Home
Thanks to the power of the all-new RE Engine, and a dramatic series shift to first-person perspective, you will experience horror like you've never seen before.
The RE Engine was specifically designed with the development of Resident Evil 7 in mind. With this engine, we can produce photorealistic results and display objects of various textures, right down to the smallest of details. Resident Evil 7 is only the first step on the path to creating more photorealistic games and immersive worlds.
In Resident Evil 7, we're changing the way you interact with the world. For this next major entry in the series, play from a first-person point of view, dramatically increasing your ability to become fully absorbed in the world we have created.
Play with PlayStationVR!
Resident Evil 7 is completely playable with PlayStationVR! Experience all the horror of the full game in a 360-degree environment. Are you ready to face your fears?

You might want more action, but you don't speak for 'People' as a whole. 5 and 6 were the worst installments in series for me precisely because they were action shooters and not survival horror.
I would be interested to know when you discovered the RE series and which was the first one you played. I suspect it wasn't RE1

If you've not played it in VR, you've not played it properly

It came out in January, I played it and completed it in January and haven't played it since. It's not like it's a multiplayer title.
It's about 10 and a half hours through. Couple of sittings and you're done. I moved it on for around £35. When it's down in price later this year, I'll be buying it again. It's a great game. Don't let the numbers on Steam put you off. People are finished with it now and are off playing the newer games.

I was checking this on Steam yesterday and there were 350 gamers playing this. For a few months old game would expect much more.

Awful RE game, first person view, no classic characters, no mercs mode, no replay value etc. Even considering those are really bad numbers especially for a big franchise such as RE. Hope this gets through to Capcom that people want action not horror. Unfortunately I think Resident Evil as a brand has now become niche after the awful Resident Evil 6 and 7.

I'd love to play it on VR, would bump my personal score off the game. But is a lot of money for one game sadly.

Cheere mate, I have wanted this since day 1 but I was convinced it would have dropped sooner. I have lurked on this website for a couple of years and never made an account until a few weeks ago. You've made me spend so much money but I am grateful for all the 'savings' in the long term. Thanks again man.

£29 looks a good price, until you factor in the cost of purchasing the (if not required) recommended VR for the complete experience. I still maintain Rez is the demo software for showing VR at its current best, certainly on PS4 anyhow.
I really enjoyed this. Great game. So much so that I played it through and Platinumed it. Was really enjoyable.
For anyone else who enjoyed it, I highly recommend picking up Outlast 2. If you think RE7 was freaky, you ain't seen nothing.

It's a good game, not great as it over stayed it's welcome towards the end (was pretty bored after the escape).
But I much prefer this over 4, 5, 6 and revs series.
Curious to see where they go on re8

Why is capcom controlling the price of this game? Normally it should be about £25 by now

I don't speak for people as a whole? Well the sales of the game says otherwise. If anything people who want a horror Resident Evil are the niche.

Just got it for £32 new from 365games, it's listed as £37 but they offered me a £5 code as I visited, couldn't decline at that price.

Got to agree with buzz! I actually only really played this because I got it for free but have to say i loved it.. I was going to wait until I had the vr set up but that's not how it worked out  if I knew it was going to be this good I would have waited.. it's the best res since they remade the first game for GameCube!

5 and 6 have higher sales numbers, but they were the first be available on Xbox and thus available to a much wider audience. The numbers i found were RE1 as a ps1 exclusive sold 5 Million copies and RE5, available on PS3/X360 and PC sold 8 million. Of which 7.1 were PS3/X360. the sales numbers are not so clear cut. Not to mention the fact that many people would have bought RE5 (based on previous quality/style of the franchise) expecting it to be a survival horror game and not an action shooter and were subsequently disappointed.
Reviews and metascores show that 5 and 6 were less well received than others.
