Pretty good price on this set up, no SSD, although it does say "NVMe M.2 SSD by PCIe Gen3 X4 up to 2200MB/s speed (optional)" So should be able to add a NVMe M.2 SSD later down the line, should you feel the need. Couple of freebies in there too, which is always nice. But all in all I think this works out nicely anyway.

Has anyone bought from saveonlaptops before? Some of the reviews I've read suggest they are horrible if anything is going wrong with the order or delivery.
Could anyone confirm the screen type? TN or IPS?, I would like to know the adobe RGB accuracy. Thank you

Agreed, does anyone know what the screen is like? I find this feature the most important out of all the "specs" and I find it bizare no one seems to pay attention to the colour accuracy and viewing angles. It's hilarious that cheaper chromebooks have better displays than most laptops sub £800

Shame about the 960 but for the price you really can't complain as you wont be getting a 1050 for this price yet, the M.2 slot is a bonus too.

This is good, I have the 970m and it runs everything.
Get the SSD version, this is an absolute must.

I dont understand why they re still offering gaming laptops without SSD; or any laptop for that matter. Nowadays, you can get a 512gb SSD for less than £120.

£120 is an additional 20% cost of this purchase. That's a lot for any product to jump.
It's better to make it 20% cheaper then allow users to upgrade themselves if required

really? which pcie m.2 ssd @~500gb you getting for 120? :smirk:
Its probably a better deal as the SSD is PCIE, so you coud still add in a normal 2.5 HDD for less and keep the OS on the SSD without any hassle.

ok sure but then you have lost the main bulk of storage, cant have everything for nothing

I'd assume he wants the HDD removed and a normal SSD in its place, but at below £120, it'd have to be a lesser brand.

Yes indeed. No you don't have to inform them, just if something goes wrong let them know you only opened it up to put an SSD in, just don't fiddle with anything else

bought this last week from ebuyer and put a nvme SSD in it. Great piece of kit, although unfortunately they don't really seem up for price matching themselves and i paid £50 more!

I have an MSI and contacted them regarding this a while ago and was informed removing the sticker does not invalidate warranty as long as done carefully and not damaging other components.

Really? I wish I'd known this when i first set mine up; I was just going to struggle along with the slow hdd for a year and then switch it out once the warranty expired. Do you have to inform them you intend to put an SSD for warranty purposes, or can you just go straight ahead?

Is the RAM easily upgradable to 16GB?? And more importantly would this be good for using AutoCAD? For 2d and 3d?

The MSI GL62 6QD with the i5-6300HQ and GTX 950M works fine for 2D AutoCAD, so this should too. Not sure about 3D as I don't do modelling, hopefully someone else can help you there.

Would be pretty God damn stupid and make no sense to have option to include ssd but then voids warranty by doing so, does it not?

I bought the MSI GL62 6QD with the i5-6300HQ and GTX 950M in October and I'm pretty happy with it. AN additional £30 for the 960M and the i5-7300HQ sounds like a good deal. However, the one-piece bottom with warranty sticker over the screw hole means you'll invalidate your warranty by adding an SSD or removing the battery to do a hard reset.

I bought the same MSI as yourself, wanted to add an SSD after I purchased so I enquired with MSI about the warranty, it doesn't void the warranty aslong as you are just putting an SSD in

meh
its fat compared to 65 series (which also is double the price of this).
This could be used as desktop replacement for image / video editing.
