waiting for vega release voting hot as the cheapest 1070 at the moment. I expect vega should push the 1070 under 300?. can't believe the 970 came out at 250 ish.
NVIDIA have not rebadged to this same degree. It is the exact card with barely higher clocks at the top end of their card lineup.

Just went for an air cooler and the arctic freezer 13 , when my pc is running flat out playing bf1 for example I get temps of about 72 max. I have a big Fractal R4 case from previous pc, so airflow is great.

At the time of posting this it was not released and i do agree the 580 is just a upclocked 480 which was expected by most acouple of people have even flashed their 480 with 580 bios

Nvidia and AMD both do this GPU rebadging, it's nothing new, most people aren't fooled by it, that is if they take a minute to research it. AMD Vega and Nvidia Volta are the next gen GPUs out this year.

They have, but have been OOS for a while. Amazon warehouse is great if you can actually get one.

I built my new pc back in October and kept hearing the wait for this wait for that comments but indeed went for a 1070 and have been enjoying it since , it's a beast of a card. I had the same thoughts when trying to decide to go for the 6700k or wait for the kaby lakes/ ryzen , again glad I didn't. I think you have to weigh up the advantages and disavantages but it's not like the "old day's" anymore with massive differences. To be honest I don't think it ever will be.

waiting on vega also but when rumors are the 580 is due out end of this months begining of next but that is rumored again as polarus

Rumors? It's out. The 580 is about 3-5% higher clocked compared to the 480.
But it is quite literally a 480 re-badged with a better process. There are no changes, just clock speed.
There is a bios flash that is going around that flashes the 480 to the 580, again, with roughly 3-5% gains all based on the higher clocks.
It's really deceptive and unfair to customers that this was called the '580' when it is really a slightly improved 480.
