They have already sold 3,000 units of this item and no surprise why!

Because 3,000 people are too dumb to find the same keygen that this person is using to sell dodgy keys?

It doesn't matter how they are selling them, they are illegal. I don't understand why people have so much trouble understanding this. The CHEAPEST way to buy Office outright is around £110. The cheapeat subscription is aorund £49/year.
You CANNOT legally buy Office 2016 for £3. Which part of this is causing a problem?
The bit where it isn't what you want to hear I'm assuming.

Aren't the keys activated by Microsoft or via a local KMS server these days.

If there are any problems ever on an eBay purchase, eBay have a policy where you can raise a case and ask for your money back, all £3.05 of them.
But the seller is a proven trusted eBay seller. Read their profile, check their feedback, its squeaky clean

After 3 months you have no protection from. PayPal. I don't imagine the key will work much longer than that.
Think about it. Look at the price. Seem way too good to be true? Well there you go.
If you're inclined to buy this you may as well get it from the pirate bay instead. Donate the £3 to a worthy cause rather than this guys pocket.

That policy is 30 days (maybe 90 sometimes) and do you think most people wait before leaving feedback? They probably download, enter the key, install it and see it working - leaves positive feedback, with no ability to change it. I'm sure people would rather convince themselves he's a legit seller than admit it's about as legit/legal as cracking it yourself.

Squeaky?
And that's not including the people who received the key, used it OK, left positive feedback and then found when MS pulled the key two days later that they couldn't change their feedback to a negative.

Here's another example of something too good to be true:
