Hope this helps someone who can't get some of the larger Atmos Amps in their AV Cabinet. This one is wafer thin compared to most and this doesn't impair the sound quality. Sonically i would say it sounds better than the rival Denon and definatley better than my old Sony and Onkyo's. Its listed as £399 but i called up and asked if the would discount it for a VIP member and the guy on the phone said best he could do was knock £10 off and give me premium delivery for free. I tool out the 6 years supercare for £38 because you can claim it back if you don't use it after 6 years. No brainer this one.
Some people have critisied the lack of a second hdmi output but this really isn't a problem for me i only need the one but its got 8 hdmi 2.2 inputs which leaves me some spare after i connected all 6 devices. Comes with Audessy Mic for room / speaker setup and its awesome very easy and does a great job of optimisation. I added a +1 to the centre channel but that was it.

Yes but says more about you than it does the product.

Having had the X2100W (basically a X2300W without Atmos and HDCP2.2) and the NR1504 (very similar to the NR1607 albeit only 5.1), I can confirm that the NR range does sound noticeably better for Music even if it has a lower Audyssey version. And it is not underpowered, I used it to drive 2 pairs of floorstanders. Plus it looks better! The Denon has the slight edge for movies.

Good deal but struggling to see past the Denon AVR X2300W on at £349, also at Richer Sounds.

The Denon is DNLA compliant, the Marantz isn't FWIW (On the Richersound Website)

I would listen to both in an Atmos environment first, i did and the Marantz wins to my ears. Don't get me wrong the Denon was good also but its a big old ugly beast.

FWIW the Marantz is DLNA 1.5, I know i use it and its a dodle to play via my NAS this must be an error on Richersounds website or its been updated by firmware update like the DTS-X was. So this is a real competitor to the Denon.

Sorry to go a little off topic guys but how does the Marantz SR7011 compare to the Denon 4300H? Is it worth the higher price? I think the Marantz offers multi room video too with its 3 zones if I'm not mistaken? Any help greatly appreciated.
