Purpose - Securing work piece to enable sawing, nailing, brushing and other DIY tasks, includes 2x 12" (30cm) clamps
Portable and lightweight work table with integrated handle for easy transportation
Durable worktop with steel and polypropylene materials provides steady work surface
12'' clamps that can be installed both horizontally and vertically, to suit almost any job
The B&Q site (and Screwfix where it on sale for £55) state that it can handle weights of up to 180 kg however the Mac Allister site itself states that the max load is 453 kg (which would tie in with the very similar Ketter brand w/s).
These get excellent reviews and I can confirm that it really is a handy little tool to have. Solid and reasonably lightweight (for what it can hold) it's a solid replacement for a B&D workmate.

great idea. not sure if practically it would work, as it might be a bit flimsy.

Nope, lots of good trade reviews at Screwfix and I have one - very solid.

Much better than cheap workmates - I also have one and never use my actual MDF workmate now.

Have to agree with the other guys - these are very solid and my one from screwfix is one of the best additions to my workshop. I paid £50 when on offer at screwfix, so this is a good deal.

It is very portable and very good at the functions it is limited to but nowhere near as versatile as an old B&D Workbench. Sadly the new B&Ds are garbage and this is better than those for most things but still not great.
In fairness it is OK at this price. The folding system is very clever and I suspect this is what wows people but as a working tool, I prefer my 30 year old B&D.

Are the newer non-cheap ones bad too?
Someone was selling an old one near me recently for a tenner, it went quick, I would have bought it for the new price of current ones!

I have a keter one and it's been useful for diy in a flat as I can store it under the couch

Bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. Just thought £45 was B&Q's regular price though, so didn't post it. I also found a £10 off code online so effectively got it for £35 with click & collect. Not used it yet though, so can't comment on how it performs.

I got this from screwfix for £30 its not bad not brilliant I have one side locks easy one is a pain and its a bit heavier & bulkier than I thought it would be but it is sturdy has some cons to a B&D but has more pro's for me. Glad I only paid £30 for it myself but this is the best price you can get for one at the moment.

These are OK but the legs use a very brittle plastic, when I was folding mine up the legs use a kind of "lever/fulcrum" system to pack the table together. Something was obviously not aligned right inside so the force on the top bit of the leg ended up snapping it off!
Whole table rendered useless. Luckily it was under warranty and Screwfix replaced it, but it's obviously a known fault as I noticed the replacement had bright yellow warning tape on it saying "Don't use the legs to open the table".
Also it is a faff to open and close, there's not much tolerance.
