Ive bought thousands of pounds worth of PC, Xbox One and PS4 games and credit, and never had issues.
if they are doing something wrong then it's not up to me to investigate it. and once that code is registered on any of my accounts, they can't take it back anyway.
for all you know, tesco/asda/sainsburys etc, could be doing all kinds of shady ****, but you continue to wander around and fill up your trolley regardless.
