As an owner of an ION albeit quite an old one that can record straight to USB & SD i think you'll get a decent piece of kit i haven't had any problems with mine ruining records, skipping or anything nasty, it just plays vinyl exactly as you expect to hear it, i think as long as you take good care of your vinyl don't and play them too often you won't have a problem with ruined records

Same here, had an Ion Classic for ~10 years and all records still play beautifully on it and always have.

I've found these to be a bit cheap and nasty compared to the full size deck that they make (with pitch control and full size lid).
