Excellent granite worktop protector found in Tesco Woolwich.
Quite heavy and durable , I used a couple to fit under my subwoofers to
decouple them from the floor. Absolute bargain
Price online shows £14 , could be nation wide but not sure.
Found it a week ago and it has normal white label saying the price , rather
than a yellow one marked as a sale.

I'm probably wrong here, but I interpret it as a worktop protector made from granite

But how do I protect my granite worktop surface protector? Use a bit of spare worktop from the shed?

Why would you need protection for a granite worktop? Isn't granite meant to be really tough?

Can't really think of a use for these - you can't cut on them because they will trash your knives.

It's to protect a delicate worktop (e.g. a wooden one) from hot pans, it's not a chopping board.

I was bought one as a gift. Found it too heavy to pick up to wash/rinse. Now use it as a kettle & toaster stand. Not really necessary, and I wouldn't have bought one for doing this, but I do think they look nice on it.

Heat added just for the subwoofer idea. Does it do much to stop sound traveling downwards, or is it just more pleasant the floor doesn't vibrate?

Ha - added heat for the same reason

Not sure about if it stops the sound travelling downwards but definitely stops some of the vibrations and tightens the bass noticeably. I got a quote from a guy that cuts and polishes granite , for the same size he quoted me £90 , it was a centimeter thicker but way too expensive.
