I bought one of these a couple of years ago and while it feels well made it's extremely difficult to close - requires both hands and a fair amount of force

Seconded.
And the only way to open it is with the button. Can't be done manually. So once its 'down' you have to compact it again (hard work) before you can open it again.. for example once inside and you want to dry it.
Quality & sturdy though.

Happy to give it a try at this price. Seem enough positive reviews aside from the all too common spate of 5 star reviews from customers receiving goods free or at discounted rate for an "honest' review - I struggle to accept any of these are as objective as claimed.
