I have these. they really do quiet down the noise but I find them a little bit tight. Nothing unbearable though.
I got them because our 9 month old baby has started shouting. The volume she can reach is insane and it's at that frequency where it just hurts my ears. so I use these to keep my ears safe and I can still hear her more than enough so i know what she's up to. When she has her mad half hour of yelling I reach for my ear defenders.
The worst part about using ear defenders though is suddenly being left alone with the voices in my head....talking....incessant talking....scheming.....and so on

Could be used if you want to follow Kipkay's guide on how to make a pair of noise eliminating headphones!
Actually the pedant in me has to state they are "noise isolating", not "noise cancelling".
I've got a pair, They work well for the price I paid which was a little higher at the time.

Would these be suitable for children with autism?

yes. ear defenders can really help ease noise sensitivity for children with autism and allow them to access places that may be unreachable without them. i recommend giving them a go if you havent already tried

Definitely- my sons favorite ones... I buy them 6 at a time haha (he's severe and non verbal)
I would pay a little more and go with a set that has a better headband as I ordered a pair and on receiving I opened then to fit on my head (average size) they snapped. This was more than likely due to being a cold day and not letting them reach room temperature as the plastic is very brittle and they seemed very tight. Not good if you keep them outside in the garage or shed.

But a mere £3 more gives you the luxury version :stuck_out_tongue:
