Needed to buy this for sometime but kept putting it off. Had it in my save for later basket and Amazon let me know of a price change. Has gone down around £7.
Usually around £22 everywhere. Bargain at 14.87. Excellent reviews too.
Satin has a slight sheen over matt but nowhere near gloss, it's used for walls. Satinwood is used instead of gloss, for skirting etc. It is slighly less glossy than gloss paint, but twice as easy to paint, dries quicker and doesn't yellow as badly with age.

No, satinwood is like a gloss type paint.

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to get a good finish with this as it is water based. The oil based satinwood is much better but is getting more difficult to source.

This is not glossy at all, it gives a nice sheen to the wood without the shiny reflection you get with gloss. It's also easier to use than gloss as your can get smooth finishes without the drip marks that are associated with oil based gloss. The trick is to apply lightly with multiple brush strokes when using a brush and use a foam roller for a streak free finish on later surfaces. And best of all, because it's water based its easy to remove from your hands and can be washed in the sink!

Odd I'd much prefer to paint with gloss in terms of finish to be fair. Only reason I'm using this is that it doesn't yellow. Have never heard of waterbased to be easier than gloss to get a smooth finish.

Both are a sheen between matt and gloss, I don't think using them interchangeably is especially confusing to get the point across :smiley:
