Cold. My Samsung S7 will print wirelessly, if you have a compatible wireless printer and it's only £500 more.

Cold, my Tesla car can print wirelessly, only need a very basic inkjet. £60000 more only, why not.

What/Why do people use/need a dedicated label printer? Why not just use A4 label sheets and use your normal printer? Am I missing something?

Convenience. The A4 label sheets are fine for printing multiple copies of the same label or doing a mail merge but if you just want a single label, you need to tell the PC which label you want to print on each time. You also end up feeding the same sheet through the printer however many times there are labels on the sheet, after the third or fourth time through most printers, the label sheet is starting to get curled up and makes it more likely to jam.

I bought one of these last year. Thought I would only rarely use it but it's turned out to be really useful particularly with the different label types and designs.
If I had to quibble, then 300dpi in 8pt font is a bit dotty, but then again, you're not going to get a 600dpi printer at this sort of price.
