I was looking for an everyday laptop at a reasonable price that doesn't weigh a tonne and this seems good value for money. I was going to buy it at £749.99 during the week but on checking today realised it had gone down by £100. Lowest it has been on camelcamel. Not a computer geek but I'm sure this should be useable for a while especially as the RAM is upgradeable.

yeah i cant think of a single reason that they dont make every 13 inch ultrabook have full quadcore cpus and at least gtx180 in sli with 32gb ram etc etc

Had one and sent it back, a single noisy fan which seems to run permanently. Also huge bezel and poor touchpad

I'd say it sure is to the (last gen) entry 13.3" which was £999 or less before the price hikes on them, after the touchbar and 7th gen CPU models... ?

It is approx £400 more so is still harsh to compare but that's the closest macbook pro I could think of that comes closest out of the current models to buy new. I don't own either so I can't compare. However I'm stubborn so I won't buy a macbook now as I wouldn't pay more for something that is even more outdated than before. I am currently keeping a eye out for something with similar spec. However I'm not sure how well everything scales at this resolution on windows. However I would hope you could set it to 1080p.... :man:
I just wish it was from JL with a 2/3 year warranty. Amazon are great still for returns within 30 days.

I have the UX305 which is superb, and I think is a previous model. I paid £499. Not sure that a QHD screen has any particular value to a 13" laptop, personally think FHD is sufficient. Its probably a good price, but the i3 in the UX305 is good enough, 16G ram would of been a better upgrade.

Yeah the fan issue seems to be very popular with zenbooks, plenty of people returning them solely for that reason.
4713 CPU Benchmark for £650 smackeroonies is way expensive.

HP Omen can be had a hundred quid more which comes with 7300HQ and 1050, 8gb ram... Trade in the Xbox Elite controller and it goes down to £670/680

Some of us just want thin and light with good battery life and good enough performance not a quad core with a gaming GPU.
It's the same with cars, different strokes for different folks or do you troll every deal for a town car because it's not a sports car?

I managed to get a refurb'd i3 UX310 of ebay for £200 a few months back and I really am impressed with the quality and would recommend them. I was after a portable laptop over highend performance. Best laptop I've owned and I've had lots!
Plus points: Screen, no power brick, outer casing looks high-end, responsive keyboard, weight & portability and good battery life.
Negatives: Speakers a bit weak, touchpad buttons a bit vague, black bezel looks a bit cheap on mine but I see this one is silver which is much better!

If you want an ultraportable, you wouldn't be buying one that weighs 1.45kg + PSU.

I already have a high-end desktop, I'm looking for a laptop in order to travel while working since I can't always be at the office. Laptops seem to be quite dire at the moment from last few years offerings.
