Found this 8 way extension lead which is individually switched and comes surge protected. Similar deal posted about a month ago but this one is in white and is cheaper. Link Here
Also an option for 6 way which is £1.34 cheaper. Link Here

I got one of these. Arrived quickly, and so did their large catalogue junk mail pack. Few emails later and they removed me off their mailing list (don't like throwing away junk mail, rather not receive it).

Just make sure you tick/untick the junk mail/email option during the order process and you will have no problem.
I bought loads of stuff from CPC and I never had to return anything.

I wonder how safe it is to keep the master switch left on indefinitely. I assume if all 8 switches are off the device is effectively off?

I have one of these in my shed and its left on 24/7 as it runs the alarm system as well as giving me power for my tools - been there about 2 years and no problems!

I couldn't see any "don't sign me up to mail list."
Recall see others pointing out the pretty hidden tick box.
But they were friendly enough to remove me from their mail list.

This was £7.67 back in February when i bought after seeing it posted for 190th time on here but it's well worth it even at £8.35.

I bought one last time. I got sent the wrong model, but that was quickly rectified by their very good (British) customer services. It works well for standard plugs, but I was unable to fill all the sockets because most of my equipment uses over-sized adapters instead of standard sized plugs. It was bought for my computer desk but I had to go back to my straight 6-way extension. Voted hot despite this.

Is a tower one an option for you? I bought a couple of ten way surge protected tower ones from CPC a while back, the sockets are angled with five on each side of the tower, so virtually any mains plug will go into them fine without restricting other sockets. Only issue I have with my tower ones is not individually switched, but you can get versions that are they just weren't cheap at the time I bought.

just be careful if you intend to use the non standard UK plugs, for example the 'adapter' style plugs that come on a lot of products now, because of the shape layout of the plug sockets they tend not to fit if you needed to use all 8 - had to return mine when bought from Amazon.

Wow - do they actually have a "no paper junk mail" option now?
I wonder how good the switches are on this - if poor, the contacts can easily weld together from inrush currents and then you can't switch them off.

I'm tempted to buy this. It's a lot of dosh £33 seems mental, but quality engineering, well designed for avoiding a jungle of cables very highly rated by owners.

I'm not sure I'm a pro elec fan. Had just a 3way switched adapter from CPC and I heard it sizzling one day. Luckily I heard it.

Good deal, heat added, Be aware though that fitting 8 plugs on it depends on the shape of the plugs. I bought one for my external hard drives and found that once 4 were plugged in along the bottom none could be plugged in along the top as they clashed. It's a shame you can't get 8-gang individually switched surge protected in a continuous strip, 6 is the maximum it seems then you have to go for this design or the towers.

I like that but £33 is a bit much.

I might be able to get the tower to work but the desk has a false back to hide the cables, so in front would show all the cables and behind would be very difficult to plug in or unplug. The smaller tower could be an option, but ideally as the other poster mentioned, a straight 8-way is really what I want. Having said that I'm not desperate, I went for this because it was cheap and I liked the individual lights and switches.
