As title - 4TB recertified drive in stock for £66.99 delivered
Also showing 3TB in stock for £61.99
I just ordered a pair of 4TBs and used promo code WDSTORECPN (found on HUKD) for £10 off orders over £100. Code only applies to April though.
This is my first time posting a deal, please be gentle

Spoke to WD this morning and they said that due to the popularity of the item the drive went out of stock whilst my order was being processed. The stock has been replenished as of today and I should receive a shipping email within the next 24 hours.
Customer service was pretty poor as I have had to phone them about 4 times since placing the order but I suppose that is the flipside of the coin to getting a 4tb drive for £65 when they are retailing at £100!
I will deffo be testing the drive thoroughly when I get it! Hope this info helps someone.

Well at least you're proof of reincarnation, well done.
Both drives have been through the extended SMART test ~12 hours
They look OK. I do prefer the previous design though - not that it matters much, the drives are going in my NAS but I might hobble the Winbond ID chip and stick some of my old 2TB drives in the MyBook cases for the kids' backups.

Had a recertified 2TB WD Elements portable fail on me after running simple SMART tests so don't forget to do a full suite of tests including badblocks (linux). Still got two more portable 2TB Element badblocks tests to complete, and they are currently at the 50 hour mark....ZZZZzzzzz (-_-). Better safe than sorry. Would cry if I used a recertified drive without testing it, and then it decides to give up the electronic ghost on the last day of the money back guarantee. Noooooo )0_0(
Are they as bad as they look on the WD website?

Just received my new model 4TB My Book drives - I can confirm they contain black & white labelled WD Greens, model no. WD40EZRX.
For the shuckers out there - you can still open the casings with old credit cards (three), but you'll need a Torx T10 to remove the drive from the frame.

Still nothing for me.
I see on the new 4TB recertified deal thread from yesterday that some people have had their orders shipped already. Meanwhile, there's people here who ordered 3 weeks ago still waiting and still out-of-pocket. It's literally criminal.
I've submitted Paypal disputes and will be claiming the money back directly. I truly hope this stings them; they've had weeks to handle this properly and clearly don't give a damn. I'll be warning people every chance I get to avoid this joke of a company.

I've ordered two of the newer 4TB units @ 71.99 each, but the discount brought that down to ~£100 for the pair - cheaper than the last (cancelled) order.
I might have missed something - can you let me know please the site from where you were able to "order" the £71.99 version.

I wish another hdd manufacture would do the same deal otherwise I'd jump in bed with them quick fast but alas they are not forthcoming so we're stuck with Western Douche-bags :-(.
Yep did the calculation earlier, and yes it did turn out to be cheaper than the original deal, but....the thought of having to deal with Western Douche-bags again leaves a very bad smell lingering in the air. Sigh.

Don't get me wrong, I'm almost certain they'll string this out for a couple of week and cancel the order again, but then I'll have proof of them repeatedly taking my money for a couple of weeks with no intention to fulfill the order. Then it's game on.
Gatchaman
13 May 17#93
I will because when the crap hits the fan and the price of everything goes up buying a hdd from Western Douche-bag or anyone else will be the very last thing on my mind.....
Western Douche-bag currently have the My Book (New) (Recertified) going for £71.99 but that's still not good enough after the time wasting crap they pulled. And if I do buy something from them again then it'll be a order status email or phone call (from work) every day until it's shipped.

You can't make this stuff up - my order was cancelled, so I sent a huge formal complaint email to the Digital River customer service email address detailing how unsatisfied I am with their service, how it was unacceptable for them to cancel my order after weeks of holding my money etc., and received the same canned response which says:
This is a new low for customer service.
Please everyone hit their Facebook page and their Twitter with your complaints. It might be the only way we get this sorted.
FWIW I ordered mine before the deal was posted here, so I might have got the last one.

The **** finally pulled the trigger, and put me out of my misery by canceling the order I placed way back on the 26th. Western Digital/ Digital River accepting the money, and then well trained customer service, if you can call it that, stringing customers along for just over 2 weeks was really funny..........not.
When you only have 100 units of stock you don't accept 500+ orders. It's just simple basic common sense which these guys at Western Digital / Digital River seem to lack.
Complaints to the CEO inbound.

Will try one last time with WD customer service, and at the same time I'll have to start typing an email to the CEO as still nothing from Digital River or WD..... After all this rigmarole I hope that they can survive a Badblocks test unlike one of the three 2TB WD Elements drives that couldn't even handle a quick smart test before crumbling to bits. Not having that much luck with HDDs but at least it weeds out the faulty drives before the money back offer runs out.
Anyone got a template we can use as a basis to write emails to the CEO. Every time I try to type something steam comes out of my ears and I delete it all after a min or two.

I ordered 1x My Book a few hours after this deal was posted. Other than the initial order confirmation I've heard absolutely nothing from Digital River since.
Disheartening to note that it seems to be a case of no complaint or enquiry equals no delivery of a product that I've already paid for! I just don't have the time (or the heart, to be quite honest) to sit rattling off emails/answering calls regarding every online order I make. Congratulations and kudos to those of you who have had success with this, however.

2nd reason - product went out of stock whilst my order was being placed. The stock was allegedly replenished on the 4th May. Courier/dispatch info to be sent within 24 hours.
3rd reason - Payment hasn't been received from my credit card - funds available other things had been purchased since. Nonsense.

I've submitted Paypal disputes and will be claiming the money back directly. I truly hope this stings them; they've had weeks to handle this properly and clearly don't give a damn. I'll be warning people every chance I get to avoid this joke of a company.
Just received a shipping confirmation email for the two new 4TB units I ordered.
I didn't post it as a deal because, on the evidence of this one, it probably isn't.

I've ordered two of the newer 4TB units @ 71.99 each, but the discount brought that down to ~£100 for the pair - cheaper than the last (cancelled) order.
I might have missed something - can you let me know please the site from where you were able to "order" the £71.99 version.
Western Douche-bag currently have the My Book (New) (Recertified) going for £71.99 but that's still not good enough after the time wasting crap they pulled. And if I do buy something from them again then it'll be a order status email or phone call (from work) every day until it's shipped.
So just advised them that if this is customer service, last WD ever order !
@Soulhunter123777
Sorry to say this but they don't give a toss so don't let the scumbags waste anymore of your time.
I got the same canned email three times, regardless of what I said to them. I don't think Digital River knows what customer service means.
This is a new low for customer service.
Please everyone hit their Facebook page and their Twitter with your complaints. It might be the only way we get this sorted.

When you only have 100 units of stock you don't accept 500+ orders. It's just simple basic common sense which these guys at Western Digital / Digital River seem to lack.
Complaints to the CEO inbound.

**** off? Who, me? Nah, whatever gives you that idea?!
Anyone got a template we can use as a basis to write emails to the CEO. Every time I try to type something steam comes out of my ears and I delete it all after a min or two.

BS.
About ready to hit Paypal and call it quits on this one.
Looks like it is being sent from "CEVA LOGISTICS NETHERLANDS BV"
Should be delivered tomorrow.
Will update on progress, it was handed over to a customer service manager from WD lawyers. The online dispute resolution is a powerful tool for when things go awfully wrong with online stores.
Thanks to baronbuzby for his info throughout.
Has anyone who went for this deal received their drives yet? Or even a shipping notification?
Finding contact details for the recertified store (run by Digital River) on WD's website is also near impossible.

So what are they selling for £79.99 when you click on the link? Correction. The add to cart button is live but one can not add a drive to the basket.

All a bit weird as I could only get the company's US address and in the email I put the CEO's email because the crappy company don't have a generic email only support contact forms on their UK site.
Thanks for the heads up - I will be sending an email to the CEO (google it) right now - this situation has been most bizarre I must say!
I suggest you do the same.

They send a copy direct to the trader (Digital River in this case)
I have added on £20 request for compensation for time wasted so far.
Not sure what to believe!

1st reason - Still processing, operator will submit a "follow up ticket for tracking the status"
2nd reason - product went out of stock whilst my order was being placed. The stock was allegedly replenished on the 4th May. Courier/dispatch info to be sent within 24 hours.
3rd reason - Payment hasn't been received from my credit card - funds available other things had been purchased since. Nonsense.
In the end I got so wound up I put the phone down and filed a support ticket with WD:
http://support.wdc.com/support/case.aspx?lang=en
If it comes it comes but if not I will be lodging an official complaint with:
https://www.resolver.co.uk/
Customer service was pretty poor as I have had to phone them about 4 times since placing the order but I suppose that is the flipside of the coin to getting a 4tb drive for £65 when they are retailing at £100!
I will deffo be testing the drive thoroughly when I get it! Hope this info helps someone.
Thats what I will be doing when I get mine. Also running HDTune Pro's Error Scan.
Just find one that can continuously stress your HDD.
Haters love these posts making up rubbish about them too , so they come here often , good jop OP some punters got a good deal
Here are some example tests i just ran on two 4TB (top) and two 5TB (bottom)
It'll likely be too late by then, but I will report back once my order arrives.
Did you bench them with CrystalDisk by any chance? Or if not what speeds do they stay at when say transferring a 10gb file each time?
Thanks
Had plenty recertified drives before, no issues and you would spend up to double on a new one of this size with hdd pricing as bad as it is.
Great price, heated...
The first thing I'm going to do when I get mine is continuously benchmark/stress test for 10-15 days straight. Going to do everything in my power to break them before the guarantee runs out.
Nice super cheap deal before the train wreck called Brexit hits. Stock up while you can!
Personally, I've been on the lookout for the 4TB drives for a while, and I doubt I'm the only one. Seemed only fair to spread the news.
