"0.50% fee is applied to all balance transfers, which is fully refunded in 60 days" - why do they bother doing that? Or do they charge interest on the fee for those 60 days and therefore it isn't really 0% ?

Sainsbury's credit card said 1.5% fee then fully refunded after 60 days then yes, they add the interest so you don't get away with it Scott free!... but better than monthly interest on my balance..

Whilst it is annoying that they do this as it catches most customers, there is nothing stopping you just funding the card with the 0.5% fee out of your own pocket as soon as the balance transfer debits the account. Minimum repayment on the card is 1% of the balance, so just see it as making an extra half-month repayment up front.

That sounds like a good idea - could you give a little clarification as I think I get it, but I'm not 100% sure in what you mean and perhaps others aren't too.
Thanks.

If you get part way through the application (but don't submit it) and think... hm I don't like the proposed credit limit, let's try and alter my application to request more.... they then don't allow you to complete that or any other application for 30 days.

You make your transfer (say £1000) then immediately manually pay 0.5% (£50) onto the account using your debit card. This clears the transfer fee (payments go towards the balance with the highest interest first) and avoids interest being owed on it in the interim between the transfer going through and your first subsequent payment hitting (which could be as much as 7 weeks time).

I usually accept the possibility of a day or two in interest and make a payment to the account only when I actually see the balance transfer fee on the online list of recent transactions, but no doubt this probably works anyway.

I don't think I've EVER seen a 0% balance transfer card that will allow you to transfer a balance from another one of their own cards (for obvious reasons).

Me too. Went on Experian and credit rating at top of the range so tried other one they use and got 5/5 on that so credit rating excellent. Not sure what their criteria is!
