Really? I've never had the tealights. Is it not the same as the big candles?

Nope, very weak, unless you light several at once

Hi. I had these tea lights at Christmas time. I can 100% assure you there are not garbage. The box I bought were "cranberry ice" Now I bought these half price in the sale and put them away until Christmas just gone. They had been in storage in my home for 11 months. I had a Christmas decoration, that you put a tea light in and it lit up. The whole room smelled of cranberry from this one tea light. They last about 4 hours. Just thought I would add this comment for balance.

I wouldn't worry, the tealights smell the same as the jars  Obviously there is more scented wax in the jar versions so a jar will smell stronger than one tea light, but you only need one or two tea lights to fragrance an average sized room sufficiently. I actually prefer the tealights as you don't have to worry about burning them for 5 hours to make sure the wax burns flat like you do with the jars!
