Classic Chaplin film. Hynkel, Dictator of Tomania, tries to expand his empire while a poor Jewish barber tries to avoid persecution from Hynkel's regime.
Chaplin's Modern Times is also £1.99 (£2.99 in HD).
Solaris (the Russian original) is £3.99 HD.

Chaplin was an anarchist. He gets my vote everytime.

This has not aged well. It is poorly scripted and acted and about an hour too long. The story would have been better if more was made of the 2 protagonists. The final speech is loved by liberals everywhere, especially in view of the new president in the U.S

Chaplin made this film when the silence from most other film makers was deafening regarding the insanity of Fascism. Even he admitted he wouldn't have made fun if he'd known about the extent of the horrors. Oh and Jack Oakie is hilarious as the Mussolini-type... It passes the 6 laugh test easily!
