Rtings found the Q7 to be not much of an improvement, with the KS7000 being marginally better in many areas: http://uk.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/q7f
(It's a US site so KS8000 there is KS7000 here).
If other sites come up with the same review I wouldn't expect retailers to be that keen to discount them.

I'm not a big fan of the retailer but its still £50 cheaper than john lewis and still comes with the 5 year warranty. I doubt john lewis will match pcworld if a code is used but maybe worth a go.

They did, but there was a voucher on Currys part.
I think if you tried to ask JL for a price match they will reject because of the T&C's of price match.
But like before they might just do it on the website anyway

John Lewis price matched this from currys for me at xmas at this price. Since then I've returned 2 tvs due to faults and currently on my third. Picture of this tv can be fantastic but it's far from a perfect to (check forums before buying). Bear this in mind before you decide which retailer you want to buy it from.

dave859
14 Mar 17#8
not sure if they will
We don't expect you to find a lower price at another high street competitor for the same individual product, sold with the same service conditions - but if you can, we'll match the price when you buy, or refund the difference for up to 28 days after you've purchased from us when you make a price match claim.
We have shops, call centres and a website giving you flexibility in how and when you buy from us. The level of service we offer can't therefore be equalled by online or mail-order only retailers such as Amazon or Play.com - and it's for this reason we don't match their prices. There are also some fitting and installation service conditions we take into account when we look at a price match - see below for details.
We match prices publicly available to all customers, based on those displayed in a shop, on the high street competitor's own website, or the first price quoted to us over the phone. The price has to apply to an identical individual product in terms of make, model, size or colour. We match bundles only on a case by case basis, and we don't match special prices only available to certain customers – such as negotiated prices or prices for groups like account holders or club members. We don't match prices only available via 3rd party websites, or with voucher codes

In the other thread a guy posted this. Might be a better chance of getting price matched:
Can I ask? There are numerous reports of micro-stutter on this set (I too am in the market for a 55 or 60) and there just as many claiming this judder can be eliminated within advanced settings related to motion and frame insertion etc. Have you exhausted all these menu options?
BKMacC to steveex

I have auto motion plus turned off. I turn it off an all TVs. It has been fine, not seen any judder or anything like that.

I'm very tempted by this tele, can't beat the picture quality for the price (as long as you are aware of its little issues with certain inputs - I've heard of issues with certain sky channels at 1080i for example). But I've got my eye on the KS8000 and hoping to find it for 1-1.1k in the next few weeks. Unless one of the new models being released can tempt me..

Mine too. They are just interested in selling you extras that you don't want. Like extra warranties and insurance.
Beware if you buy more then 1 thing with a discount code. If you want a refund on 1 of the items they take the whole discount off your returned item, hence don't refund in full.

Stupid question I know but why can't top of the range TV's just work. I have bought a number over the years and am always disappointed by judder, dirty screen, or light bleed. TBH I'm getting a bit fed up of the whole thing!! I know this is not on topic but just thought I would vent my frustrations. I am in the market for a decent 55" for Xbox Scorpio at the back end of the year so hoping OLED hits the mark.

As with a lot of people tried a number of sets , the KS7000 range are top quality. I paid £799 for the 49 inch version cos I couldnt fit a 55 inch in the space I had but I would recommend to anyone thinking to buy this TV. Its one of the best things I've ever bought , the colours and contrast are the best I have seen. Sorry I've turned into a fan boy for these sets but its that good.

Well the Q stands for Quantum and the KS7000 is Quantum Dot Tech... all Samsung did was rebrand it QLED as people see OLED as superior to LCD, so now people will say Samsung are QLED and it's the next big thing.. when it isn't.
I had 3 KS7000s(I sent it back twice), all of them sucked, I don't recommend the TV. Every single one had dead pixels, which sucks as the pixels are so large, still 4K isn't good enough, we need 8K to get that PPI up to a good level. On top of that the left bleeds light so badly, but if you walk off angle slightly, you see bleed shoot up the TV so bad because of the edge based local dimming which is worse than having no local dimming at all.
Then I had problems with the OS and it having no content.. seriously there is nothing there. So what is the point having it at all? I'd rather a dumb TV I put my own box into, than a "smart" one with no features and lag.
You cannot use it as a monitor either, I tried on all 3 of them, but for whatever reason the TV hated my PC and kept flashing black on occasion, I could never fix it..
I just went back to using my 32 inch 5K monitor, which is far superior, but I do have to sit closer.

I've got this TV. it only seems to judder through the Sky input at 1080p. PS4, Blu-ray, inbuilt Netflix are all fine.
the judder is a microjudder though, barely noticeable.
If this gets price matched at John Lewis then I'm off to buy a new tv

14 Mar 171#34
Just a heads up with this set, the viewing angles are pretty limited (poor imo) and is the main reason I sent mine back. Same goes for the KS8000. I'm hoping this years models will be true to their word and have better viewing angles. My 2010 full HD Samsung TV is excellent in comparison so I've gone back to that until the new Samsung models are released or I go OLED.

I got the 55inch ks7000 in December for £949 from Richer Sounds. Although it did come bundled with a blu-ray player which I sold for a £100 profit. So I guess I got it for £849 too
I should mention I did have micro-stutter and general motion issues, so I told Richer Sounds who promptly sent out a replacement. The replacement (touch wood) is fantastic so far and doesn't have the same problems. The picture really is incredible. PS4 Pro and Netflix and Amazon in 4K / HDR have blown me away. I'm quite satisfied that the TV will do me for 3 years minimum.
So, as much as this is a great price, I would be careful with the retailer as it seems a bit of a lottery whether you get a fault-free panel.

Do not get the KS8000, it is a marketing ploy. Rtings website said that the only difference is the material of construction is more premium and the stand is a little better. The screen quality and the technology behind it are exactly the same.
To note as well, this TV in the UK is the KS7000, however in America, its called the KS8000. So when looking around for the TV for like reviews etc., be mindful if the site is UK or US.
I bought this TV, 49 inch, in Jan and I have no regrets. I got it for £800, so a 55inch at the same price is very much worth it. Looking on forums and reddit etc., this TV is the best rated mid-ranged 4K HDR TV, in the UK. Only ones that are better are the likes of OLED, or ones that are miles more expensive. This TV also had the lowest input lag (21ms) for 4k HDR gaming.
(RTings there says KS8000 but it really is the KS7000 here in the UK, like I mentioned earlier - the article does outline the differences in model numbers between here in the UK and the US).
Hope this helps.
Kenp8257
15 Mar 17#51
I agree totally and buying a TV can be a nightmare with all the varying issues...
But that said you have to bear in mind that the KS7000 is a mid range TV.... not top end....
Top end would be the OLED starting from a good few thousand pounds! !!
Times have changed and TV manufacturers and their marketing departments are making a meal of it all. ...
A great TV is the Samsung 65" KS9500 currently around £2,500
A LOT of money I know.... but over ten years.... £250 per year....
However. .... whether it's worth the extra depends completely on the purchaser avd their budget. ...

I've already got a Asus Pg279q which is a 1440p 165hz gaming monitor. This would be more to play on if friends came round or if I just want to play on the big screen with a game that doesn't require really high refresh rates, or maybe that is capped at 60fps in engine, like Nier Automata for example. Just ordered the 1080ti so the thought of playing something like mass effect at 4k/60 in HDR on a 50 inch screen chilling with a controller definitely appeals. More serious gaming will still be done on the monitor. The ks series also have some of the best input lag of any tv, around 20ms in game HDR mode.

Amazing TV - I did my research and wanted the best HDR TV for under £1000. LG OLEDs too expensive. Only downside is the feet on the TV require you to have a massive TV stand/cabinet. I bought a swivel TV stand with a center base from Amazon but it wasn't the easiest to fit (in terms of getting the TV perfectly centred and straight).

Great telly.
Got the 60" a month or so and love it. Folllowed the suggested settings posted on AVforums and various youtube setups and never had any problems with motion blur, juddering etc.
Xbox One looks tremendous on it as does PS4 and one real plus point i would add is how well it upscales SD content.
Had my Openbox on it worried sports would look dreadful stretched over 60" but was very pleasently surprised.
As far the KS7000 vs KS8000 from reading reviews the difference looked negligible. Obviously there must be small improvements but if i was being cynical it looks like the big difference was a proper stand on the 8000 given that the 7000's is a bit of a car crash IMO.
I was deliberating over this TV for months but finally bit the bullet and would recommend it highly.

Oh bother, I bought this TV on Sunday from PC World for £899.
I "broke" the TV getting it out of the box. It's very very delicate, I am a careful person and I barely touched it then I felt it crack under my hold. The John Lewis 5 year guarantee is free and given by John Lewis no matter what, so in terms of price match they ignore their 5 yr guarantee and match the product/bundle on a like for like basis - on products only.....
So effectively they price match the TV's itself (ignoring) any guarantees.....
Then you have your TV....
Plus John Lewis guarantee which is given no matter what.

I can't see how they're going to sell many qled's at that price especially if early reviews are true.

(It's a US site so KS8000 there is KS7000 here).
If other sites come up with the same review I wouldn't expect retailers to be that keen to discount them.
But PC World and Currys get my worst retailer vote.
I think if you tried to ask JL for a price match they will reject because of the T&C's of price match.
But like before they might just do it on the website anyway

AVForums - Samsung KS7000 Settings Thread
Beware if you buy more then 1 thing with a discount code. If you want a refund on 1 of the items they take the whole discount off your returned item, hence don't refund in full.
4k is **** compared to Oled 1080p
4K is overrated, most of the time you will use 720/1080p
Very happy with the TV - it's a good upgrade from a 7 year old 42" Panasonic Plasma (G20). It took me a while to get the smart remote working for all my sources with sound output to my AV amp.
I think the price promise is upto 7 days after you ordered the item anyway
I just went back to using my 32 inch 5K monitor, which is far superior, but I do have to sit closer.
the judder is a microjudder though, barely noticeable.

I've ordered from Currys with same code, will return if prices drop elsewhere...
"Do you want an extra warranty or £300 HDMI cable?"
"No"
"Okay"
Two good articles for reflection:
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2016-samsung-ks7000-4k-tv-review
http://uk.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/ks8000
(RTings there says KS8000 but it really is the KS7000 here in the UK, like I mentioned earlier - the article does outline the differences in model numbers between here in the UK and the US).
Hope this helps.
However. .... whether it's worth the extra depends completely on the purchaser avd their budget. ...
I think you might be out of luck if you're past the 7 days, but it's probably worth 5 minutes of your time to try. Good luck!

My understanding is the the c6 is also actually 10-20% more expensive.
well i can confirm its a treat for HDR - movies and games on ps4 pro have been delightful. excited to try mass effect on it on my ps4 pro
What's the consensus, is it worth waiting for the 2017 models to drop after launch or just getting this bad boy now? Is there a marked difference? (£1,500 worth).
Absolutely.
For the price it's a really great tv.
But as you say not in LG OLED league in terms of price or picture quality. ..
But make sure you're quoted for the 2TB 4K box and not the standard Sky Q which is only 1080p....
I've seen some 4K amazon and wasn't overly impressed.....
No idea how good Sky 4K is.....
You might be better off with the LG 55"B6

£1,799
As always, try with your own source material in store and compare before you buy
..
But I don't know how many (don't think its many) or what else is available. .....
I’ve been unable to locate the voucher code either on the product page or the Currys/PC World website. We do consider voucher codes, but only if they’re publicly available to all customers who visit the competitor’s site. As this doesn’t seem to be the case, I’m not able to offer a price match.
Where does this voucher come from?
I "broke" the TV getting it out of the box. It's very very delicate, I am a careful person and I barely touched it then I felt it crack under my hold. The bezel-less design makes it very difficult to manoeuvre, especially if the wife is refusing to help you because she didn't agree with your decision to upgrade the Tele.
Luckily I took out the care plan which I had planned on cancelling after the first month. They collected it next day but I won't see the TV again for a week. :disappointed:
Try the 7 day price match thing telling them you have a code..... hopefully should refund the difference
Worth contacting them if you want from RS
I have had one for over a year now it is STILL not working correctly. The Sound is terrible and keeps fluctuating up and down. I have yet to see an engineer as all i keep getting told is I need a software update. This will be the LAST Samsung i ever buy...
so it seems some people have managed a price match with appliance electronics and some not; fingers crossed!
So effectively they price match the TV's itself (ignoring) any guarantees.....
Then you have your TV....
Plus John Lewis guarantee which is given no matter what.
Hope that makes sense ...
Will hold out and wait for these to drop a little more!
Either way i'm happy with that for £845.
Wait till 2018 I'd say..... which no doubt will be £3K plus for a top end model!!!
The Samsung 55KS7000 is 4K and £900
Both have different uses..... and to compare is not really that easy as they are not like for like and differ greatly in price. ...
Cinema projection feel on a larger screen vs better quality but limited to 55"....
If you're looking for say a cinema room in a garage or something. ..... maybe the projector.... but the quality will be poorer....
But maybe get a better one similar in price to the tv?
Depends on your budget too....
